I agree that they are all salad bar types, but the more blatant salad bars irritate me more. I have a family member who is related to me who is like a modern Christian type and she is constantly putting down evangelicals, forgetting (even after 24 years) that my in laws are evangelical, and interpret the Bible fairly literally.

Like oh, okay, you’re going to say that gayness is cool, abortion is cool, woman preachers are cool, tolerance of ALL other religions is cool, and wait a minute, why exactly are you calling yourself a Christian again? If you don’t agree with any of its rules why don’t you follow something else? I really don’t get it. It’s taxing to me to have to pretend I do.

That does not really sound like what Jesus preached, and isn't that really what Christianity is supposed to be about? See that is a problem with a lot of Christians its like that is the least important part according to how they behave and how judgmental a lot of them are. That is part of why I left Christianity.

But that aside, if people want to be judgemental anti-gay, force people to have unwanted offspring type christians fine, just don't shove it down peoples throats...don't have an abortion, don't participate in gay marriages ect. but don't try forcing it on others.

Aren't Protestants more OT inclined than Catholics/Orthodoxes?

That was never my perception, as Protestantism was born out of a rebellion against legalism. One thinks of countless laws and codes when one thinks of the OT. Though on the other hand, while Luther's theology was centered around God's grace earned for us by Christ's death and resurrection, Calvin' theology was based on God's predestined decree when it came to going to either heaven or hell. Some might see Calvin's perception of God as being more in tune to the God of the OT.

I see, I think the most OT-inclined Christian denomination is actually... Islam.
