Anyone can claim to not be an extremist, including people who would be considered extremists by most of the general public. Beyond that, you don't need to pass a purity test of not being an extremist just because someone implied you might be one, if MG wishes to seriously accuse you of being an extremist it's on him to make a compelling case that involves more than not liking his joke.
There's nothing for you to prove, not finding an attempt at humour humorous isn't an adequate basis for a
credible claim of extremism against you.
Further, trying to seriously refute an unserious accusation ultimately just leads to people digging until they can find something that supports the unserious accusation because most people hold at least one opinion that can be framed as extreme if enough digging is done.
