Charitable giving.

Whenever I see a charity for kids or animals I'll give money if I can.

That is honorable, and I love animals, but in my view people come first.


True but it can be hard to judge sometimes. I gave money to the Free Software Foundation when I had a job. I considered that helping people in a very progressive fashion. Because it had the potential to lower the cost of software for alot of people freeing up resources to do more honorable things like feeding kids.

I would donate to charity, but when I do they seem to spend the money writting letters to me asking for more money. And few charities actually achieve much meaningful that I know of...

It also irritates me when they keep on ringing up wanting more money. These days I tend to spend money in local thrift shops because I know the money will go directly to needy people.
