Do you believe that the National Guard would have been down in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama if the people left behind were white, middle/upper class Americans?

As for the national guard, the US has become too much of a bureaucracy to make decisions in a timeframe less than a decade.

I think class was the major factor, not race. The battle is between the rich and the poor, there are poor white people and rich black people too. Poverty or wealth are not synonymous with race.

Well, the poll states it all.

As for me, I think it's despicable. I heard one National Guard who had just made it to New Orleans mutter just loudly enough for the cameras to catch it "At last, we're allowed to help."

I have also just heard that countries throughout Europe have offered troops and additional aid to America (since we maybe don't have enough with Homeland Security and our oil-fighing in Iraq).

well it's obvious that race was a factor. they wanted to let it linger a bit first to really be able to get the gentrification into high gear.

new olreans isn't the same city it was before...and i wish i was back there to fight it because i'm losing my home to a bunch of f*****g rich white men who'll rape the pure essence of the city...the pure bacchanal spirit...and add that white man sheen of sterile toxicness.

god damnit, this thread is pissing me off.

f**k fema and their "throw a couple thousand dollars and make them go away" approach. i hope everyone of them who were involved in the core decision making process die a slow and painful death made only worse by seeing true pain up front every day in their families' suffering.
