Thanks. I still consider Catholics as brothers and sisters even if I may disagree with doctrine.

Hello. :D Am I correct in guessing that you're a fan of CCM also? (CCM stands for Contemporary Christian Music and is one of the abbreviations I use regularly) :)

<----- Christian. And I don't consider Catholics to be Christian, but I'd rather waste my time debating about why.

You want to open up another thread for debate? I'd be willing to debate if you would. :)

Hooray for other CCM fans! :D

What's CCM?

And yes, I'd love it for someone else to start a thread. Don't know how calm I can stay though, this is one of the few things I can get angry about.

CCM stands for Contemporary Christian music. It was started roughly in the 1960s and 1970s, probably due to the beginning of the conservative resurgance. Now, it includes musicians such as Michael W. Smith and groups like Reliant K, Switchfoot and Newsboys. :)

Okay to the debate idea. But if it's going to work, everyone will have to stay calm and collected, otherwise they'll probably end up closing it. :( My inability to stay calm and level-headed about certain topics is the main reason why I don't debate more often in here. ;)

I can't stand CCM. I can tolerate it, but I wouldn't listen to it on a daily basis.

I'm an aspie Christian. I consider anyone who believes (and accepts) Jesus' gift of dying on the cross and raising from the dead to forgive their sins is a Christian. I don't believe in any other way to get to heaven except through accepting Jesus Christ's gift.

Quite, as this is what Christianity is basically. I too can get quite livid when debating, which is why I do not do this as often. Just a quick question, do Aspies tend to get more angry when debating than others? Sometimes it can seem that way. It's just that, when talking with atheists, I just want to not see them go to hell so this is why I try to "internet evangelize" sometimes.

You remind me of a phenomenal book written by Mike Yaconelli entitled Messy Spirituality and how Christianity can not be fit into a cookie cutter, how our relationships with God are totally unique. In retrospect, this book seems like the ideal one to get Christian Aspies! Also, and this is a personal query, how do you handle it if someone starts saying how they are angry with God and starts insulting Him? I can't help it but I want to correct someone when they do this. Any suggestions?

Are they using any sort of language that would be offensive to anyone else? If they are and I were in a position of authority, I would let them know and threaten to take action if they do so again. If you are just passing by them in the mall (or something like that), I would just ignore it. :( Either way, it's not right to insult others, whether it's a fellow person or whether it's God.
