True, Joel Osteen seems to be a very decent man. I don't like the whole preaching for money etc. but he's definitely not a Pastor Hagee.

I think John Hagee is gunning for the position of Anti-Christ. He is one of the most hate filled men I have ever heard. Joel Osteen stopped taking a salary from his church when his first book became a best seller. Do you think Benny Hinn would do that?

You mean Hagee is worse than Phelps?

But then again, I base conservative vs. liberal on whether someone watches South Park.

Benny Hinn needs the money so he can be a better spiritual healer.

I went to one of these mass ceremonies once. Had to go, my former work arranged it.

They fly to "developing countries" with their private jets. During the performance people were spurred on to give as much as they can, with helpers standing at each end if each row, raking in money and cheques with velvet bags on sticks. At that point I said "I'll wait in the car" and then guards at the door wouldn't let me out!

Televangelists are pretty unpopular, aren't they? It seems that I can't ever open up a newspaper without seeing a story about a televangelist who turns out to be a fraud. I don't waste my time watching them on television.

Some guys spliced together some of his sermons, and made a video. They added farting sounds to be timed to his facial expressions.

Think that is bad? My parents are going to a church right next to the TBN headquarters, which is right next to some $500,000 subdivisions. This megachurch has the most perfect of suburbans in the cozy Hendersonville, TN.

And TBN leaves the Christmas "Happy Birthday Jesus" lights up all year. LOL

I also was involved in a "from addictions to Jesus" dramatization for the 700 club. Rather, I wasn't in it, my leather jacket was. LOL The stage was quite neat, at least.

well, I think there might be few conservatives that may watch South Park and few liberals that don't like South Park. The thing is that it is a spectrum, not all conservatives share the same view, not all liberals share the same view either, there are people that are liberals when it comes to some issues and conservative to other issues. I guess that could be close to centrist.

I don't watch South Park, don't seem to be interested in it, and those kind of shows don't appeal too me that much, except for The Simpsons, which I have liked, but I just watch it sometimes, I think I consider myself liberal, but not too much. I know extremes are bad.

About televangelism, I don't have a problem with it at all, after all, you just change channels and that's it, so I don't see the big deal, and I think it is a lot better to "spread the word" by that medium, TV, Radio and the Internet, than having them knock on your door lots of times ;) especially if you feel uncomfortable everytime someone knocks on your door or when the phone rings.

Benny Hinn pretty amusing to watch at like 4am. I think he is funny, but I also have no clue of what he is talking about.

Televangelists are charlatans, liars, thieves, manipulators, and villains. They do not represent the Christian religion. They do not represent what faith is supposed to be. They are all spooks and geeks of the worst order.

Are you saying that it would take you actual effort to find cretinous televangelists?

One of the best of the worst is Jack Van Impe and his wife Rexella. I was forced to go to one of their "crusades" at the McCormick Center in Chicago when I was a kid. He has been predicting Christ's imminent return for 40 years. "He's coming back now . . . I mean, now . . . OK then, how about . . . now . . . ?

Sad thing is that they are still on television and people are still sending them money.
