Abortions are a mistake that women should be allowed to make if they so choose. If they didn't want a kid, they shoulda used contraception. If they can't take care of a kid, put it up for adoption. If it's just one of those things where it's like, "Oh God, I gotta abort this f****r!" Then do it. :D

Seriously, though.

Ouch!

This is like the second time some bonehead has launched into the assumption that the sex was unsafe yet concensual (and thereby insinuating the woman was somehow at fault). What about those instances where conception happens as a result of rape or incest?
I cannot even begin to fathom what is going through a womans' head knowing she might be/is carrying the child of a horribly violent act. I can't even think of a simpler analogy to use so that a man can understand it better.

As an adoptee of course I advocate adoption whenever possible. But I have to say that I don't think men should have a say in this issue at all. Not one bit. We cannot possibly understand what happens during pregnancy or giving birth. This is a woman's issue and with them lies the decision.

You sound like a troll.

Yes indeed.

If you have been raped, you should have an abortion. I'd rather abort that baby then have baby and live my life knowing it was a product of animal lust rather than love. If you will die if you have this baby, you should abort. A baby without a mother is a terrible thing.

There is NOTHING wrong with abortion.

I'm not a vegetarian, as many others, I like meat, although I don't like cartilaginous meat.

I wonder how a fetus taste like.

What do you think I'm saying abortion is a mistake women should be allowed to make for?

This is my take on the Chinese forced-abortion policy: It's as brutal as the following:

A dictatorial regime puts out a population-control edict by giving every citizen between age 5 and retirement, an IQ test. Anyone who scores below 100 gets sent away to (what is euphemistically referred to as) "academic enrichment camps." They're given some training for a month and given a different, more thorough intelligence test. Anyone who scored in the bottom half gets sent away to be euthanized.

Forcibly aborting would be on the same cruel caliber as exterminating the mentally challenged.

so you reckon they should just keep pushing babies out until their population reaches such a ridiculous degree that homelessness goes up to 20%?

Sorry, but we need those of a lower IQ to pick our fruit, work in the fast food industry, ect. We cannot have a society in which intelligent people are reduced to working below their capacity.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion... and I'm entitled to discard it. Such black and white thinking has not shown itself useful to me, and I find that you do not back up your statement initially to be rather weak. Why value potential over experience in all things? When does life start, in your definition? Rape, incest, abandonment? Inability to provide for a child? To choose to have a child than one cannot care for, cannot provide food, shelter and a warm environment to grow within, instead of making a rational and reasonable decision - this is what I find selfish, Boots.

Robots will. We will have droids that either look every bit like us, or in any design that best suits the task needs. They'll do the jobs we hate.

Now that I think about it ,we wouldn't have to hire maids & nannies to help us clean and fix the house anymore. If we can buy a droid-maid for our own personal use, she'd be a cleaner, gardener, renovator, etc.-er during the day, and a "practice wife" at night.

Ideally, I'd hope for the employees these droids will replace NOT to be laid off immediately, but be slowly replaced by them one-by-one as they retire, quit, or get fired for different reasons (like being a no-call, no-show.) Ultimately, it would be the business owner's/hiring manager's prerogative.

Babies aren't put in the mother's womb. They are formed as result of fertilization.
