[quote="Fnord"]"What benefits do you derive from your religion?"
I adapt the best & most admirable influences from religion & nature to help me develop as a person

2. "What drawbacks do you find to your religion?"
It's solitary- I will never find someone who has a completely empathetic understanding (well as an aspie I guess I won't find that in any sphere of life so its not a subject to regret long!)

3. "What adjustments would you make to your religion to suit yourself?"
Any adaptions have already been absorbed into those beliefs to make my religion as meaningful and useful to me as possible.

4. "What adjustments would you make to your religion to make it more ecumenical?"
Why would I want to make my religion uninte christianity? It takes a huge influence from it while disregarding the bits I don't agree with or feel have been added on later as part of other agendas. I think I might be misunderstanding your meaning.

5. "How would you describe your religion to a person who is completely clueless about religions in general? Starting with the basics, please..."
I am a pagan (ie outside the main religions) and I believe that my life is a part of a genetic chain which is symbiotic with the Earth. I strive to bring comfort and enjoyment to those within my sphere of influence by careful use of natural gifts whilst respecting others freedom of belief.

Thank you for a thought provoking thread!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not all but impossible to live symbiotically with the Earth? Even if it is, what does that have to do with genes?

1. "What benefits do you derive from your[religion?"
It makes my priestess wife happy.

2. "What drawbacks do you find to your religion?"
I'm still forced to celebrate secular christmas for family, even after celebrating vigil for ourselves.

3. "What adjustments would you make to your religion to suit yourself?"
None that I haven't already made.

4. "What adjustments would you make to your religion to make it more ecumenical?"
I don't think it needs to be more ecumenical.

5. "How would you describe your religion to a person who is completely clueless about religions in general? Starting with the basics, please..."
I wouldn't.
