Meh ... it's all the same.

One religion calls its devil "Satan" and his minions "Demons", while another called their devil "Xenu" and his minions "Thetans."

One uses exorcism to remove these demons, while another uses auditing to remove theirs.

One takes money in regular collections, while the other takes money in easy installments.

I mean ... religion is religion is religion ... et cetera, ad nauseum ... :eew:

Funnily enough, I agree with you. Religion is not really necessary if you have a relationship with God. Religion vs. Relationship.

And, equally, religion isn't necessary if you have no relationship to a god.

Are you suggesting the atheists of using that fallacy?

Why did they choose such an obvious appropriation as their symbol? I realize that the Christian Cross is not itself an "origninal" symbol, but it has represented our faith long enough to have gained a certain legitimacy, It think. tI's like what the Nazi Germany did to the Hindu Swastika. Just how wrong or right is it, this appropriation of ancient symbols by relatively new movements? Comapred to Hinduism, probably the world's oldest religion, how much legitimacy does the Nazi movement actually have?

Agree, although there are many secular religions.

Some examples: Objectivism, Secular Humanism, Scientific (so-called) Socialism.

Humans do not live by bread alone. Humans live on Faith whether or not they believe in the God(s).

I assume that christians use the cross because it is what Jesus was crucified to.

Why scientology would use it is beyond me.

The swastika is the eastern version of the cross essentially. Both represent the crux constellation.

I'm not denying that Jesus was crucified. I just wish to point out that this symbol is of great value to many religions.

Peace.
