Possible futures. I don't know how to explain it other than to say it's like saying that the penny can flip to heads or tails, if it's heads then I'll flip it again, if tails then I get a quarter. As an event happens, forks close off, and the futures that are no longer possible disappear.

If you've ever read the Sword of Truth books, the descriptions of the threads of prophecy are the best picture of it I know of.

The parallel worlds theme is an old concept. H.G.Welles wrote about it in "Men Like Gods" around 1900. No one knows about branching reality or parallel worlds. If God knows then he knows which branch becomes real - if God is as He is described.

If the MWI of the QT is true, then all possible universes do occur, and hence the multiverse is deterministic. Hence, God is powerless beyond the initial conditions (not that that should be a big deal as if God is outside time, as St. Augustine contended, then I see no reason why He should need to work within our temporal framework).

You are obviously trying to psychoanalyze God which is a useless exercise. Scientists spend years trying to figure out what goes on in a bat's thoughts or even what a bedbug might think of Groucho Marx. It's beyond our capability. Leave God alone.
