Not really - the main difference is that the USA are indebted in Dollar, something the USA can produce in any amount wished. THe 3rd world countries were/are in indebted in foreign currencies. Some years of inflation could solve the US-debt easily.

You could always put GWB onto death row and auction the rights to pull the switch on ebay. That should reap a windfall

Well? Why aren't the Republicans, who were so supportive of the Bush deficits, chiming in with something? Did you really think that it would never be a problem, and that we would never have to pay it back?

Of course, we have more guns than any other country in the world. Just let them try to come and get their money back.

Or is the idea that we will borrow from India to pay back China, and then borrow from Nigeria to pay back India, and then borrow from Chad to pay back Nigeria?

Actually, if we go full circle, and then borrow from China to pay back Chad, then India again to pay back China, etc. etc. A Bernie Madoff style Ponzi scheme--how could it possibly fail?

Actually, we all know why the Republicans haven't chimed in yet. They don't know what to think, because Rush Limbaugh hasn't told them what to think. As soon as Rush Limbaugh tells them what to think, then we'll be getting some very strong, heated opinions. :lmao:

Rush is busy thinking up how to convince the Chinese that pan-fried liberal with a feminazi reduction sauce is a delicacy and a natural aphrodisiac, and that we have the worlds largest supply of the ingredients... Hey, these are the people that pay through the nose for powdered rhino horn and tiger testicles, it could work.

It seems immorality in the USA is becoming more open. Hypocrisy is sometimes a peculiarly good thing, but the thugs from the G.W.Bush administration have seemed to taught the country a lasting lesson.

It's nothing the rest of the world wouldn't do to us if given the opportunity.

One good nuke deserves another. The psychology of bank robbery seems quite popular at this site.
The fact that The USA can duck its debt by printing money will only devalue the dollar so radically that it would become a worthless currency.

The U.S. government has been corrupt ever since Washington and Hamilton led 13,000 Federales into Pennsylvania to loot the good yeomen of that state by forcibly suppressing the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. The tax was collected at gun point. The pansies in the capital needed money for their fine clothes so they taxed the products of Pennsylvania farmers to get the money to buy them. It has been downhill since them.

There are no good governments anywhere. There are only bad governments and worse governments.

One of the more amusing idiocies amongst the human herd is that communal activity requires no donation of effort and treasure from members to maintain and secure the coordinate effort.

What about those huge banks and insurance companies that went broke gambling, and the US automakers that watched their market share decline for forty years and never considered making changes?

How about the Wall Street firms that watched stock prices quickly double and triple when nothing significant had improved in the companies and never doubted that stock prices would increase exponentially forever?

Instead of wasting my money trying to bail them out, we could give them to the Chinese.

But they'd probably want money to take them.

The Chinese diet is remarkably varied. They eat anything. Perhaps a few bankers might prove valuable in that direction.

These are very bright people. It would be like letting a troupe of tigers loose amongst a batch of sheep. Texans, who, one must remember, made G.W.Bush their Governor, must be a very gullible bunch. Have you no pity?

Not to generalize but i find that the average Texan is one of the oddest kind of american i've seen thus far. <.< (And quite likely the most destructive one too!)

Or, (standard Republican approach), we could solve this and everything else by just cutting taxes and borrowing more :lmao:

Well, Texas does have a few good people. President Lyndon Johnson came from Texas. Still, we really should turn Texas over to China for giving us G.W. Bush. And G.H.W. Bush, although he wasn't really a Texan.

Just don't hand over Hawaii. I am too lazy to learn Mandarin and Cantonese.
