Simple fact is that both Conservatives and LiberALS are both LiberTARIANS. The only difference between them is who they think should be at liberty.

Conservatives want deregulation of anything that curtails the liberty of the privileged, to seek continued advancement to ever higher priviledge.

Meanwhile Liberals want regulation of those same privileged, so that the underpriviledged may no longer be downtrodden and driven into ever diminishing priviledge, as those with priviledge attempt to make an ever widening foundation of underdogs to support their own advancements towards ever greater heights of priviledge.

It is a simple matter of greed-vs-obligatory charity, or fascism-vs-communism.

Both extremes are as morally repugnant as the other, and throughout history the seeking of either extreme has ultimately lead to the world's most brutal wars in an attempt to restore balance. The only rational, informed choice is to be a moderate, and seek that balance between selfishness and selflessness, or 'liberty for the masters'-vs-'liberty for the slaves', by not favoring one extreme or the other.

One can argue against conservatism without arguing for liberalism, and one can argue against liberalism, without arguing for conservatism.

As a moderate I argue for a balance of both together, while arguing against the promotion of one at the expense of the other.

We can progress the human race towards ever increasing greatness, but it must not be done by the few at the expense of the many, and at the same time progress must not be abandoned in the name of maintaining equality, because progress is what makes us human.

Lolwut? That... I just... what... that's not libertarianism at all...

You have successfully achieved the Chewbacca Defense, by saying something so profoundly wrong that I have become speechless.

Turn out libertarians, rather that having a different morality, really are immoral.

Reading now the article posted by the OP I can see a lot of red flags concerning sociopathy.

Objectivism!=all libertarianism

It is a Strawman to imply libertarianism advocates lack of compassion to slove social ills.

Libertarianism is simply a skepticism of authority, and advocacy of the minimization of government in peoples lives. Some libertarians even support voluntary association (unions).

It ranges from anarchism to socialist libertarianism.

I'm not quite a libertarian, but socially I am. For instance I think that government should have no role in in defining relationships, marriage, etc.

Rarely have I found people match up to their Libertarian ideals, becuase people support protectionism when it suits and don't seem to see it as protectionism. It comes under the concept of pseudo-rights and pseudo-property, which is protectionism and collusion IMO.

I don't recall even seeing the term libertarian in there.

To understand my point you must refer to the article the Op posted.

Next up is a measure called the Need for Cognition scale which tries to gauge the extent to which people engage in and enjoy effortful cognitive activities. Again, libertarians outscored both conservatives and liberals. The researchers also found that libertarians tend to be less flummoxed by various moral dilemmas such as the famous “trolley problem.” In the trolley problem, five workmen will be killed by a runaway trolley unless you, in the non-aversive case (1) move a track switch which will divert the train but kill one workman, or in the aversive case (2) push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. Typically, most people will choose to move the switch, but refuse to push the fat man. Why the difference? The utilitarian moral calculus is the same—save five by killing one. In fact, the researchers find that libertarians are more likely to resolve moral dilemmas by applying this utilitarian calculus than are either liberals or conservatives.
