Just heard on MSNBC: "pathetic, hostage-video press conference." I roared with laughter. Hope I didn't wake the neighbors.

Quite a petulant retort for an otherwise civil comment I made.
But so be it. I'll discuss this with the remaining contributors.

I wasn't sure before, but this makes it clear. You have popped up in two threads with these kinds of comment, critiquing my method and not addressing the topics. It's insidious.

Because it is a classic deflection tactic. People have no reason to wait, and waiting doesn't change anything - Trump should have released them when he was a candidate. And then again every year.

Why do you believe that he will ever release them? Because he said so?

That is over the top.If they weren't engaging in vandalism then there isn't a valid reason for any behavior like that.

Yeah, I don't see why Trump would release them at this point, unless he's like subpoenaed.

It's similar in regards to Obama's birth certificate, it's a way manipulating the media and the opposition to focus on something the majority of people don't care about while the intent on their part is to undermine the legitimacy of the presidency The innuendos being tossed around are just as much of a conspiracy theory as those that thought Obama was some Manchurian Candidate from birth. Trump said all along that he'd release his taxes after the audit is finished, there is no reason to expect that will change.

Conway just said that he would not, because people don't care. I know it's hard to keep track of the current set of alternative facts. Or am I wrong, and they have changed the story again?

What they say, the literal meaning of it, leads down a rabbit hole, subject to infinite revision.

Doubleplusgood

Trump and Conway almost always tell alternative facts, one after another until there is so many alternative facts.. people don't know which are right or wrong. A big part of it is gaslighting, period.

So something interesting going into law perhaps in Russia- decriminalizing domestic abuse. Horrid! People still want USA to be friends with Russia where many whackos think it's fine to hit their spouse? This type of thing goes hand in hand with Trump's views on women- he's disrespectful and likely HAS assaulted many. He brags about grabbing women, he brags about "going into the dressing room during teen beauty pageants" (many of the girls were UNDER 18). This is alright to some people because "Bill Clinton is worse" (anytime I mention Trump's antics, people have to use Bill Clinton as a counterpoint- guess what.. Bill isn't the president! He isn't the vice president either, so stop using him as an excuse. Same goes for Hillary, Obama, etc). Also the term- 2 wrongs don't make a right applies here quite well.

Last but not least- Trump is 70 years old. Many of his audio clips, interview clips and whatever aren't that old. He's an immature man-child that has used his power to hurt many people. He's been acting this way all of his adult life- because he has money and power to quiet people easily. This isn't alright in any situation, EVER!

He's under advisement of his tax attorney not to do so until the audit has concluded.

I'm just addressing the current situation. I never stated that I believe (or disbelieve) he will release them. I will however be amused if he does and there's nothing there that's of any particular significance to him being the POTUS.

It took from the start of March 2008, when rumors that Obama was born in Kenya before being flown to Hawaii were spread, to April 27, 2011 in response to the conspiracy theories, for the White House to release copies of the President's long-form birth certificate .

So how how much delay time does President Trump get?

For anyone reading the above, I consider it a false equivalence. It doesn't even seem like a serious attempt at one, but I guess it would take more effort to refute it than just call it out. Not much, but it would represent your investment in the legitimacy of the equivalence to even address it again.

Before he revealed the "long form" birth certificate, Obama revealed the "short form," which is accepted as proper identification by the State Department.

If the State Department accepts it, it's pretty genuine.

For anybody to have believed this "birther" nonsense is absurd.

It was also absurd when people questioned Ted Cruz' citizenship, it should be noted.

Who do you think you're convincing with this? You're like a confused football ref who doesn't realize they're at a soccer game, trying to enforce a set of rules that don't apply.

It's actually more akin to an armchair referee with an unapologetic bias for the team he supports.

But you haven't uttered a word about the US being pals with Saudi Arabia for decades where women get punished for being raped. There's no excuse now for you not to know these things so you must be trolling.

Preposterous that you can casually lay claim to that knowledge. Also just wrong and as usual, unfounded

The number I heard floated out there was that Saudi Arabia funded 20% of Hillary's campaign

I am capable of reading people's posts. All he goes on about is Trump. He never said a word about Clinton during the campaign on here.
