There we have it.

Wow, just wow! That's such a snappily empty comeback! :P

There's nothing I could add that would be more damning than your own admission, Bill.

It's sad that you don't see why.

What admission? I'm talking about you.

It's a common debate tactic on here, where one resorts to being smug in lieu of making a compelling argument. You know you won't get anything resembling a reasonable and compelling argument, so let him be wrong, or smug and wrong as he insists.

You endorse this kind of thinking? Theft still happens, despite the laws against it. Let's make theft legal and regulate it, let's make it safer in order to minimise harm to both the thieves and victims. No more messy home invasions where burglars beat up the residents! No more thieves shot in self-defence! Rejoice! Safer theft for all! Have a problem with this? Remember...you can't ban theft. You can only ban SAFE theft.

Hey yeah! That's a great idea! It would be just like the Thieves' Guild from Discworld.

I know. But I think, possibly because of my place on the spectrum, I find myself responding again and again, even though I realize it's futile.

The admission that you believe your beliefs represent absolute truth, Bill. You've got a fundamentalist faith system instead of principles.

Using "I" and "my"?

As opposed to the ad hominem riddled, bigoted non-argument you make here?

When you're reduced to attacking the character of those you disagree with, you're as good as holding up a white flag.

I accept your surrender, and make no demands in return.

Glad I'm not the only person who was thinking that after reading Mikah's post.

Again, empty verbiage.

Nope, some of us are pro gun control too.

But really, "Their arguments on Abortion are invalid, because some individuals are morally inconsistent on gun control"
That's like arguing that slavery must be morally OK, because Jefferson owned slaves.

The rightness/wrongness of slavery stands quite independently of Jeffersons moral consistency(or lack thereof).
And the rightness/wrongness of Abortion stands independently of the unfortunate co-option of the issue by elements of the right and left wing in America.

Edited to replace Lincoln with Jefferson.

Why would any opinion about an abortion matter, except the opinion of the person with the choice?

Listening to men try and argue about what women should or should not be allowed to do with their own bodies is priceless. So many unnecessary words used to say "I'm jealous of the power of creation of life and that makes me want to oppress women because I'm petty and insecure and can't deal with the biological reality that pregnancy is the sphere of women."

Nature dictates that women choose because women are the ones who have to carry the fetus in their body. Fin.

Huh? I'm pretty sure Lincoln didn't own house slaves. His wife, being a member of the southern aristocracy, had in fact been slave owners, but that hardly means he did.

Women have the power to create life? I wasn't aware that women were capable asexual reproduction.

Until you can create life by yourself the power to create life is held jointly by men and women.
