Well, gee I was kinda hoping to have a group of people who believe in God with a capital "G" only in this thread. Looks like as soon as I ask for that, everyone else shows up. They're welcome as much as Sopho or Hadron.

You have to be quite full of bitter hatred, or at least quite full of yourself, to pick on someone for not capitalizing a word, regardless of what that word was.

And as for "god" with a capital "G" if you know half as much about him as you purport to know you would know there are several dozens of religions that believe in the same god as you that can neither be classified as Christian or Jewish. Don't forget, christianity wasn't the first religion - its not even the first from where it started. And there have been quite a few branches of since then. I would expect someone who believed in god to at least know a little bit about his followers. But then as you're very act in this thread goes againsts Jesus's teaching, and your trying to "recruit" Christians, your lack of knowledge on god isn't the slightest bit surprising.

True, but would it really be that difficult for you to afford him this modicum of respect? Instead you are deliberately being disruptive and impolite. Sometimes it would be nice to have a religious discussion that was not forced to degenerate into flame wars and bickering. When someone posts a thread, they state the topic they would like to see discussed on it. I imagine it would be rather frustrating to start a thread and see 12 pages of unrelated crap put up by people who don't want to discuss the thread topic. By the way, it's not a "Christian-only thread." He specifically invites Jews and Agnostics in the thread title, and in his initial post he made clear that he would welcome discussion from anyone who was willing to have a serious discussion about monotheism that did not involve the a priori assumption that all religions are false or hostile attacks against God and His followers. If you "know" there is no God, what is it to you if iamnotaparakeet or myself chooses to believe so? Does my belief in a Creator in any way harm you? If not, then why do you choose to waste so much of your time mocking that belief? Grow up. Learn to respect another's opinions, even if they are not your own.
