That's the crux of the whole argument. We know we were born this way, but these religious bigots refuse to accept this; they think it was a choice we made, so they blame us. There is no point in trying to change their minds, they don't want to be confused by the facts. It's not just homosexuality, it's creationism, birth control, etc. It is not possible to argue with people who believe the Bible is the literal word of God.

The problem for some religious people is that if gay people exist at all, then god made them gay and gay acts are not in accordance with his wishes (the Bible). If being gay is not a choice, then it invalidates their perception of god as hating homosexuality.

Either god makes mistakes or the Bible is wrong that homosexuality is a sin.

I think the Bible is wrong and god doesn't exist to make mistakes.

As I've got older, the more I associate religion with intolerance, hatred and bigotry. The things I was told as a child that it stood against. Why do so many modern preachers, of whatever religion tend to preach hate? Or if not hatred directly, they still exhibit a certain air of contempt for those of a different sexuality. One only has to look at the Anglican church at the current civil war amongst its ranks regarding homosexuality. At least they have decided that women can be bishops now. But that has got the pope mad because he thinks women are second class citizens.

People like to hate and hate is a way to control their minds. Religion is a form of systematic brainwashing to control what people think and how they think. That they would use hate to do this is obvious.

Some would argue that because humanity live in sin, some are born gay, as some others are born autistic.

That is a bizarre argument. Autism and homosexuality as punishment for what? What have I done to deserve autism?

BTW I like being autistic. It is not a punishment to me.

Wait until they die, and discover that intolerance, hatred and bigotry are sins, and that they aren't going where they thought they were

That is terribly ironic and thus amusing. Perhaps as an atheist I will be there to see it.

well, because of the original sin, all humanity was cursed, first with death, then with diseases and "anomalies". I would assume they would consider homosexuality as a disease or anomaly, most likely that, they consider it to be unnatural anyway. Well, autism is considered by many to be a disoder, therefore an anomaly.

Homosexuality isn't bad. Religion is bad.

If god blames me for the actions of my far distant ancestors, then god is unjust and is unworthy of my regard.

If god exists, I would not worship him if he is so cruel

So if original sin is correct, then god is cruel.
