Why do people hate America?

Generally though, Americans are too conservative to me. That is why I like Canada a lot more, it seems so much more progressive and liberal.
Uh no, not by a long shot. Canada is actually a very homogeneous society despite our government's claim of a multicultural mosaic (which is an impossible concept in the way it is implemented here, but I won't get into that right now) and though we seem to tolerate a lot more, it's just that, toleration not acceptance. The U.S., for all it's religious leanings, has wild extremes of every stripe that just wouldn't thrive in Canada.
Canadians are less xenophobic. Because we are rather homogenized, but fairly worldly, when we do encounter minorities, we are less likely to stereotype them. THAT is acceptance.
The reason that Americans put up with the extreme oddballs is because they avoid interaction with each other. The really crazy ones take over some small town and hide out, doing their oddball activities, hoping they will be left alone, and for the most part, they are. Thats not acceptance, thats alienation and isolation.
They are a congealed society, and thats worse than a homogeneous one. As a nation, they are inwardly focused, so they get their 'facts' from gossip, urban myth and tradition.
And what good do those wild extremes do anyway?

The Cuban system is so good that thousands of Cubans risk death to come to our shores. That is how good it is. People vote with their feet. Count the votes carefully.
