This sort of "objective reality" is where "commonality with others" comes in.

Commonality with others could just be an extension of one’s own psyche.

Once again, I think this is highly unlikely.

I believe there is much that is shared amongst people. I believe the majority of things are "shared" by many people. Perceptions. Morals. Ethnics. Reactions, Etc.

There are also, of course, things which are peculiar to an individual person alone, and which others might never be able to understand.

But we only experience the world through our own perceptions. There’s no way of knowing for sure that they are correct or even real.

Apart from this possibility, I do agree with you.

I don't believe two people could share the EXACT same perceptions.

But, many times, the commonalities between the two persons are such that there is no doubt that the percentage which is not shared is quite miniscule.

I’m saying that there’s no way of being entirely certain that the other person actually exists.

I believe, at the very least on faith, that a person next to me exists.

If the person is my friend or intimate partner, and I have any doubts, I'll just look the person in the eye, and watch for a response---or even touch that person.

But you can’t be sure that your perceptions are real.

I’m not saying that I fully subscribe to this notion, but it’s an interesting idea or possibility.

One can take something as straightforward as: “I think; therefore, I am” and have some fun exploring it.

This thread took a weird turn but things that may be true because I can't disprove them:

1) God is an invisible flying unicorn that circles the earth once per day and controls our every action through telepathy.

2) All of reality is the dream of one person.

3) The future has already happened and we're just watching it unfold.

I believe, on faith, that none of those three options are true.

There is much which circumstantially disproves the above.

All possibilities albeit unlikely ones.

What disproves them that’s not reliant on perception?

It's sort of like having faith that a tree in Siberia was felled, despite the fact that I didn't actually hear the tree being toppled.

The three options are extremely unlikely----to the point of absurdity.

if I should happen to find out that God is a unicorn, I'll be the first to let everybody know.

While I’m pretty firmly convinced that what I perceive as reality is correct, I think there’s some merit to this sort of thinking.

It’s inspired a lot of creativity at the very least.

It's always good to indulge.

Yes, indeed....a philosophical/expansive way of thinking has lead to much creativity.

Gods have been all sorts of absurd beings, so why not a unicorn?
