Some social protection probably shouldn't go so far as to include protection from criticism or protection from criticism from outsiders.

Seeing people freaking out over religion being less practiced is something I can't understand. I mean why is this a crisis or a tragety?

Most kids who grow up religious hated it. My mom hated it so she went agnostic after moving out of her parents.

People become anti religious when its been shoved down their throats growing up and everything in their life being revolved around it. My mom hated it as a kid and decided she never wanted to raise her future kids this way.

It's no surprising less people are religious today.

I'd actually lay money on religion making a big comeback in the next few decades as climate breakdown starts to have seriously scary effects, politics offers no solutions, technology fails to live up to its promises and society turns on itself as living standards fall.

People are going to be looking for hope and guidance and I really can't see where else it's going to come from.

Is religion under attack? Are Christians in need of protection from hate groups? Have I missed something here - have atheists and gays started walking around knocking doors telling Christians to renounce their fate or else they will burn in hell?
