This will fall on deaf ears: high deductibles are a good idea, and are about the only thing that can stop health care price inflation.

The Ryan Plan is going nowhere. They absolutely do not want anyone to have a chance to look at it, and they don't have the kind of party unity to make people fall blindly onto a likely sword. Health care reform is hard.

Let's not forget that, even though the ACA did not get Republican support in the final vote, they did participate in negotiations, and had a lot of influence on the final bill. Then SCOTUS killed the mandatory Medicaid expansion. These modifications resulted in a plan that was never going to work in a sustained manner. The original plan would have been sustainable. Single payer would be sustainable if we can avoid regulatory capture, but I have growing doubts that we can ever avoid regulatory capture.

Since the Republicans' only real plan is to throw more money at the people who already have the most of it, expect the final plan to accomplish that, and not much else.

The new administration has already cut programs which had excellent economic returns, and benefited the forgotten people. Of course, those very people will cheer eliminating anything called "environmental justice" because dogma.

Don't forget to talk about Marco Rubio's role. He and other Republicans quietly got the risk corridor section removed from the healthcare bill cutting out a fundamental pillar holding up the reform.

Wait, who do you plan on enslaving in labour camps?

The most vulnerable among us, I would imagine.

Labor camps and/or reinstating indentured servitude. It would be interesting to see how many people would miraculously find jobs with the threat of enslavement looming over them.
I tell ya this forum is a well of good ideas and for this one we owe Ezra a debt of gratitude.

Not speaking literally is the new lying.

That was satire in the spirit of Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal".

You have to go bigger. I give you Sheriff Joe Arpaio

and his actual labor camp

You should put in a request for better medical care, though.

After all I'm a conservative and look how terrible we are.
- We love to deny people a decent living. Just ask any liberal.
- We love seeing people die from lack of affordable healthcare. Just ask any liberal.
- We are misogynists. Just ask any liberal.
- We are racists. Just ask any liberal.
- We hate imigrants and all foreigners. Just ask any liberal.
- We contribute to and belong to the works larges terrorist organization (the NRA) who puts dangerous assault rifles into the hands of children. Just ask any liberal.
- We hate the environment and work tenaciously to destroy it. Just ask any liberal.
- We blindly support the US military, the worlds leading bullying force. Just ask any liberal.
- Am I forgetting anything? Just ask any liberal.

With all that hate in us, putting people in labor camps and in indentured servitude if not outright slavey is not out of the realm of our thinking.
Just ask any liberal.

He must be doing something right because he keeps getting re-elected.

Yes, you're forgetting the following:

- Popping a little kid's balloon with the end of your burning cigarette (which is causing global warming and destroying the planet).
- Kicking dogs.
- Stealing candy from a baby.
- Laughing a villainous laugh ... muahahahahahaha!

Just sayin' ... :P

I don't even care. I consider you an extremist, not a conservative.

Your friend just makes me a little sad.

One can be both a conservative and an extremist. Many liberals consider all conservatives and some libertarians to be extremists and I'm liking the label, considering+ the source. Are you thinking maybe I'm an ultra-nationalist or a facist?

Call me thick (I don't care) but I'm not sure whom that would be.

Arpaio has been indicted on criminal contempt of court, and was not reelected.

"Skin in the game" is an expression that means that you're exposed too .

The Obamacare subsidy protects poor people from exposure to rising medical costs.

That's going away.

The new plan is expose these people to rising costs by giving them less subsidies.

That way they will think twice before getting unnecessary treatment, which should lead to lower costs.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/13/politics/ ... index.html.

24 million people will lose their insurance and premiums will rise under the Republican replacement according to the Congressional Budget Office. If this bill goes through a lot of people will needlessly die as a result. So much for being "pro-life."
