And in other news, still no proof of "wiretapping."

I'm thinking it's Trump who needs that shovel.

I haven't followed the bickering, but we each need a shovel to deal with Trump and his endless stream of cow patties.

I can't agree with that. If I have a need, I don't care how it is fulfilled, I just care that it is fulfilled. If it's by providing me with gainful employment or state handouts or a robot slave I build myself then great, but charity's just as good.

The problem our societies have in this regard is that the amount of charity is not enough and the distribution of charitable resources is also not effective enough.

So if you need money, you don't care whether you earn it yourself or whether it's forcibly taken from someone else against their will and then handed over to you?

If you won't pay your taxes, but insist on using the roads, yes. If you get rich because of mass transportation, you need to pay for the damage to the bridges. Taxation is not theft, and the comparison lacks any merit.

Don't feed me this line of bull about the fair-dealing capitalist. Only someone with a completely distorted view of history would rely on the social virtue of robber barons, like our current president.

If people want to have a country - and I don't feel sure that the ultra-rich actually want a USA - and they want to move their factories anywhere at any time, then they have to pay for the social disruption. Have you seen what the working class will do when they feel ignored? They will elect a malignant narcissist!

Pony up and take the pain, instead of going to the ER, huh? That's easy to say if you're not sick or hurt, or if you don't have to worry about paying hospital and doctor bills. And that certainly isn't an option if it's your significant other in need of care, and especially not if it's your child.

Pony up means to pay up or put up money. Cowboy up means man up, soldier up, toughen up, etc...
Not very good at this boycotting, are you?

Okay, cowboy up. Now respond to the contents of my f*cking post, if you're going to respond at all.

"Now respond to the contents of my f*cking post, if you're going to respond at all!", Kraichgauer shrieked, his voice cracking with rage. A wolfish grin spread across Raptor's face as he admired his handiwork.

There have been times when I could have and maybe should have gone to the emergency room but I sucked it up took care of it myself. I think you know what I was talking about. Really, if your this insistent on being alarmed or offended I can provide that in spades. I'll have all the fun and you'll have all the self-inflicted aggravation.

Try having that attitude when it's your wife, or your kid.
And the only handiwork you've accomplished is showing the hypocrisy of the right - you'll preach about how much you're for family values, but if means you have to lighten your wallet to help families in need, then your cries of family values become screeches of "leach! parasite! deadbeat!"
Don't forget to add "eater" and "slacker" to that list. And I don't screech, that's what I cause other people to do.

I'd almost bet I've given more to charity than you have by that I mean voluntary giving.

I seem to recall a certain someone two thousand years ago saying how those who brag about their good works are getting their reward... now. If you still went to church, you might remember that. Silly me, you'd probably be going to one of those bullsh*t, fundie or holy roller churches so popular in the south, that teach if you're not rich, you're going to HELL!
Besides, what do you know of my personal charity?
Even if you don't use those terms, your posts have shown you might as well have.
And yes, I appreciate support from my fellow WP members, and I thank them accordingly.

I used to go to church in the South, yes,*gasp*!!Misslizard was once a Christian.lol
I remember very well the story of the widow's mite. Its not the quantity of the giving, but the quality.

Trump's NASA Budget Supports Deep Space Exploration

CBS News wrote:
The Trump administration is proposing $19.1 billion for NASA in its fiscal 2018 budget blueprint, a 0.8 percent decrease from 2017 funding levels, focusing on deep space exploration, both human and robotic, and increased public-private partnerships to lower costs and encourage private sector innovation.

The justification as to why he is called a troll is because he often adopts a mocking tone, regardless of whether he's correct or not. The reason he is called a troll is to dismiss his arguments absent the burden of discovering which is true.

How many dead bodies, then, would you step over to get into the emergency room? If I recall correctly, on healthcare you are with Raptor in the 'let them die' camp.

my point was that the government should be providing the safety net, if it's having to come via charity, it's a signpost of immorality.

I don't think I've ever made a comment regarding healthcare----except to say that I felt making it mandatory, was BEYOND ludicrous----because I don't have it, and don't know enough about it.

Ah. In that case, would you be one of the them who are left to die outside the ER under Raptorcare? If so, major respect for your integrity.

Just for clarity, I'll restate my argument. Either:
we pay for basic healthcare for everyone or we let them get it from the ER
we pay for the ER operations or the hospitals go bankrupt
we just let people die outside the ER

I'm in favor of paying less for basic services, but not everyone agrees.

Should they go bankrupt from unexpected bills? That's the situation for those without coverage, currently.
