Now where's my gun? time to shoot these damn foxes on my estate....

If you were a stereotypical upper class Brit you would LIKE foxes, because ....thats what the animals are for!

To be killed for sport.

Being angry at foxes makes you sound like a middle class chicken farmer who...has practical worries about foxes because they kill his chickens, and interfere with his trade.

Doncha know...old bean?

You dont wanna sound as if you're in...TRADE...now do you?

Who are you calling old bean! I'll have you know I have the constitution of a thoroughbred stallion from Royal Ascot. You peasants needn't keep to niceties though, leave the refinement to us highborn gentleman.

And a "Tally Ho Corner" in Finchley - although any countryside associations have long gone for that area.

the first is very much true. My in-laws help with 'the hunt' each year, which I will have nothing to do with

People used to fox hunt here but not on horseback ,and the fox usually made it .
People got together and turned the hounds loose, usually Walkers, then they just set around the campfire listening to the dogs run.Usually moonshine was passed around. At daylight you called the hounds back and went home.It was all about hearing the dogs sound and not the kill.Anyway, that’s a fox hunt in the Ozarks.

Oh this "funny business" is most dreary. One must not humour their funny bone too long lest they become accustomed to such superficial frivolities.

Indeed madam! I humbly petition those whose vested powers allow them to padlock this most ungracious thread and its dreadful parody of our noble culture for the purposes of titillation.

Out of the three offensive stereotypes threads, the one that gets locked first must be the most offensive one! I've yet to be offended by this thread but I suppose I shouldn't be asking for more racism :P

I wasn’t offended by the American one.
I’m chubby, have American teeth, have a gun. I don’t like McDonalds or any fast food, nasty nasty stuff.Since I’m from the South I have good manners ,not a “Loud American.” No American beer for me either, it’s bad.

Back in the Sixties I had two opposite "stereotypes" in my head about Britain.

One being the stodgy tradition heavy side of Britain.

The other being the cutting edge hip cool innovative side of Britain.

Both images were exploited - in a complimentary way- in the old TV series "the Avengers" by the two main characters.

There was John Steed: the unflappable eternal Victorian gentleman in a bowler hat.

Then there was Mrs. Peel...

Actually its fun, parodying the stiff upper lip/class system as nobody minds. I'm sure even the royal family get a chuckle from some of the cartoons.
