Did they have a song called "Seagull". If so, I've heard one of their songs.

That's funny, because Chloe is the name of my parrot. ...My parrot who wolf-whistles every time I burp or fart. Find me a woman who will do THAT, and I'll marry her! 8)

I think 'Kitten Kong' is on the Goodies Best Of... series. Another 'goodie' (ha ha) is 'Radio Goodies'

Now let's take a Walk In The Black Forest.....

My favourites of the DVD releases are "Tower of London" (George Baker and the sherbert-induced hallucinations), "Kitten Kong" (especially the park sequences), "The Goodies and the Beanstalk" (the geese pursuit is very funny, especially the "Dambusters" reference), "Kung Fu Kapers" (the multinational fight scene and the anecdote film narrated by Bill is funny), "Radio Goodies" (Graeme Garden unleashed!! !), "The Movies" (the ending minutes are wonderful), "South Africa" (though they could never make a program like that nowadays, especially with B&W minstrels) and "Bunfight at the OK Tea Rooms". I also saw parts of "The Baddies", and loved how Patrick Troughton played the villain....

There are some funny comments to that video.

Personally I'm getting to be pretty blasé about all these various "let's show that Christianity was influenced by xyz" theories. All religions are going to echo many the same ideas, by nature, as they're tailored around near-universally common human needs and experiences. Not much to write home about. It's like "OMG there were farms with fences around them in ancient China! Those German farms with fences were just so unoriginal."

using astral symbolism is not a necessity. nor is using every single same "i'm god because..." excuses (ie, walking on water, born of a virgin etc etc).

being born of a virgin is not a need or a human experience.

Could you post that in all the religious threads please? Dunno whether they'll watch it, but it might shut some of them up for awhile....

BTW, astrology only really applie to an earth-centric idea anyway, which the Mesopotamians had long before Christ, too.

Neither was flying, in ancient times, but look how many different cultures have myths and fairy tales about that.

Everybody everywhere looks up at the stars at night, thinks about sex, birth, death, etc. It happens all the time that two people on opposite ends of the earth think up the same idea, since so many basic facets of the human experience are consistent throughout time and space.

I wouldn't discount serious scholarship on the subject without having a looksee, but the tone of that particular video struck me as sensationalistic, that's all. Heck, much of what the History channel itself broadcasts on religion might as well be an editorial. Don't mind me or take this personally, please. I'm just tired of all the conflicting "experts" out there. :P

Ahhh time for a beer. :)

Icarus flying into the Sun, for example.

It's a pity that around the cities you don't get to see all the stars that are aound because of either the pollution or the fact that it is never completely dark. Once on holiday I went outside the caravan that we had and looked up, and I was surprised at how much I was able to see. It was mainly because the park lights went out, and all the stars showed up clearly.

There was a lunar eclipse last night. I really wanted to see it, but I was too sleepy.

Saw it. Hard to photograph, though.

Missed it too. Apparently we were told the best place to see it was the Australian east coast.
