I wonder if science fiction and religion are related in any way

I'm just watching the pope you see and I can't work out whether all of the traditions, the rituals and the regalia is prehistoric or futuristic

What ever it is I'm absolutely fascinated by it

A plutocrat murders a poor person and he receives a Nobel peace prize in economics.

A poor person murders a plutocrat and they're treated like they're the worst thing to happen to humanity since Adolf Hitler.

Perception, perception, perception.

Context, context, context?

Sentiment! Reaction! Response!

Belief? Unbelief?

Reasonance!/Dissonance!

Repeat.

tl;dr: Received un-needed input for a problem solved 3 months ago.  Person offering the input got butt-hurt when I told them "Already solved.  Thanks anyway" and "Too little.  Too late".

Asked for help from the local Ham-Radio community.  Resolved the issue almost immediately.  This was 3 months ago.

Someone I had never heard of before dumped several kilobytes of data in my in-box related to the issue this morning.  My reply of "Already solved.  Thanks anyway" triggered that person to send another email calling me stupid and ungrateful.  My reply to that was "Too little.  Too late".

The next message from that person was so profanity-laden that I reported them and blocked their account.

I think the "Already solved. Thanks anyway" is fine but the "Too little". "Too late" parts were interpreted as belittling.

It was in response to their belittling me by calling me stupid and ungrateful after I had said, "Already solved.  Thanks anyway", so that makes us even.

I sometimes wonder if in the future we might see politics by subscription. By which I mean I can choose my governing party of preference and I pay tax to them, and they distribute that tax into the services I use and value most.

So I could choose to subscribe to Labour, for example and I might pay more tax but I'd have access to better funded schools for my kids and free healthcare. Or I could subscribe Tory and I'd pay less tax but have to pay my own medical bills and maybe give up the social security safety net.

It'd be hugely complex, obviously, and wouldn't work for infrastructure and defence or certain other services.

But I wonder.

Sounds like potential for a political Dystopia novel. Just make sure to include depictions of this happening in every country that has a multi party system.
