No, I just don't want to think about what happens if Ukraine is left alone and loses. It was supposed to be "never again". We have to help them withstand until Russia collapses from internal tension, like Tsarist Russia after Ruso-Japanese war and USSR after Afghanistan.

The Polish government is supporting Ukraine big time for obvious reasons.

Basic self-preservation happens to be universal across our political scene, despite all the pathologies within it.

It really worries me that there are some Americans (mostly Trump supporters) who are openly siding with Russia in this war. How in the hell did that happen knowing that Russia has been our sworn enemy for decades?

There's absolutely nothing to be gained and everything to lose if Russia wins this stupid war. But hey? Since Trump is a puppet friend of Putin's I guess they're thinking we should be friends to a country that has often threatened to kill the whole world just to destroy us, right?

Useful idiots indeed...

There is no real MAGA ideology. It is about, and has always been about creating chaos and overturning norms for the purpose of getting a thrill out of seeing others get upset. What the norm was, what the consequences are is irrelevant.

Haven’t read every post in this thread/all of the most recent ones, but just listened to this 5 min clip and found it interesting.

Apparently Russian troops are being told that they’re fighting Polish troops who have amassed in Ukraine and are preparing to invade Russia. That’s their new lie spreading on Telegram chat channels to get troops to go fight in Ukraine.

Also some stuff about how no one blames putin, they blame the military for poorly running the war or not having all the best intel etc and if only their cult leader had all the info everything would be perfect.

That would be in line with this interviewed POW from some time ago:
https://twitter.com/dimailnitsky/status ... 9603616769
First some identification data, then:
"Why are you here? What are you doing here, in our Ukraine?"
"I fight Poles."
"Poles? How many Poles have you seen here?"
"None."*
"Then why do you, a Russian, fight Poles in Ukraine?"
"They want to take your land."
Laugh.
"And what are you, Russians, doing here? We settle things with them ourselves. Poland is the other direction. Do you know it?"
"Yes, I know."

Of course, such videos are not hard evidence of anything - but if Russian Telegram is now full of this narrative, this guy might have been among the first ones exposed to it.

Ed: there is a translation of the whole video: https://targum.video/v/2022/12/12/880fb ... e20e6aac5a
___________
* "Никого" - that's what I hear there. The translation above claims otherwise, apparently, its author heard "много". The man speaks quietly and shakes his head while saying this.

US to send Bradley Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine - Germany and France are joining in giving armored vehicles for the fight

Quote:
The United States plans to send Bradley Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine in a new security aid package expected to come Friday, U.S. officials told ABC News Thursday.

The White House confirmed the plan to send the vehicles later in the day in a readout of President Joe Biden's call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

During the call, Olaf made his own major pledge to Ukraine, saying his country will send Marder infantry fighting vehicles as well as a Patriot air defense system. This will be in addition to a Patriot battery the U.S. committed to Ukraine in late December to help the country thwart Russian airstrikes.

The announcements come a day after President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country would be sending armored combat vehicles to help Ukraine in its fight.

The U.S. first fielded the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in the early 1980s. They are armed with a 25mm automatic cannon, a 7.62mm machine gun, and a TOW missile system that can hit armored targets more than two miles away.

"The Bradley infantry fighting vehicle is the exact type of vehicle the Ukrainians need," said Mick Mulroy, former deputy assistant secretary of defense and ABC News contributor. "There are many available, they are relatively easy to learn to operate effectively."

While the Bradley does not offer the same protection as a tank, it can still be used to take out Russian tanks and armored personnel carriers, according to Mulroy.

"This system could play a significant part of the effort of the Ukrainians to continue their counter-offensive," he said.

Ironically, the progressive side of government has been accused of roughly the same thing but with the intention, after the chaos, of creating a political/social new world order.

I see more evidence of the left side of politics having greater success in destroying social harmony in terms of traditional values.
However, I see Trump as a major contributor to the overall social collapse in Aaameria.

Simply saying it as I see it.

BTW, Now that the Democrats are in government, when will they install "Universal Health Care" as we have in Australia?

The old saying, “Be careful what you wish for, it might come true” is especially relevant in this case.
