I used to think that I was leftie. Now I have no idea. The older I get the more I feel that political ideologies are more intended to fullfil emotional needs instead of solving real problems.

I think, for example, that the culture of a society is a very important variable when it comes to make politics. Isolating a political ideologie from the conditions where it's supposed to be applied is just insane. However, most of political ideologies just develop a narrative without paying any attention to where it is supposed to be applied.

It's like ideologies, as they're designed now, are supposed to give people the feeling of being part of a group, more than being a flexible tool able to solve real problems.

If I had any worldly success to speak of, i'd probably be a bit more to the right than I am. as it is, I know which side my bread is buttered on, and the left side of the aisle treats me loads better than the right side which seems to just wanna defecate on working-class me and mine just for general principal.

I would consider myself a classical liberal, which doesn't fit with the democratic or republican parties. But that doesn't really matter, because the politicians do whatever their donors tell them to. so it doesn't matter what any person's opinion is who isn't very wealthy. I don't know if you guys realize this, but both parties agree on destroying the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, & 8th amendments to the Bill of Rights. Maybe they're breaking the 9th and 10th too, but I don't understand what those are supposed to mean exactly.

I'm on the Left.
I like weekends (thank you Unions)
I think women should have the right to vote and to choose their own medical proceedures
I think being paid a living wage and having access to affordable medical care is humane
I don't think corporations are people and I think they should pay taxes (radical I know)
I'm an immigrant and I'll be damned before I vote for the anti-migrant Republican Party in the US.

Nuff Sed.

He admits it! He admits it! (jumps up and down).

(Clears throat) I'm pretty liberal, myself.

I am for all people being equal. However, I am conservative because of my moral values, which are very important to me.

Liberals can and do have morals, too. Particularly when it comes to compassion for the poor and the rights and dignity of outcasts.

You imply liberals in government have "seized" the assets of wealthier citizens. But when has that happened? Taxation today leaves most wealth intact - unlike the Republican Eisenhower administration, which had taxed the wealthy a whopping 90%!

Only that portion of the income in the top bracket. Not the entire income.

The Pinko Stinko Left Wing Commie Loving America Hating Liberals have damn near wrecked the Middle Class.

Really? Foolish me, I had thought it was the stinko pinko liberals with their support of worker's rights, and social programs that had created the middle class, while corporate greed, destruction of worker's rights, and outsourcing - all supported by the right - had been the cause of the middle class' destruction.

/\ Uh huh, well the stinko-pinko liberals can hardly be bothered with doing any actual good these days when they are spending all of their efforts between hating the rich and stirring racial unrest.
