Keep calling people out on that stuff, that's my recommendation. If they have class they'll take it as constructive criticism. If they don't have class and just get peevish, then just point it out to get their blood pressure up.

The trouble with that is people say much more incendiary things than that on a regular basis here and get away with it. It wouldn't be fair to hit him with something that, technicaly - from that viewpoint, would seem correct and is related to an idea rather than a member. Saying another member is a narcissistic prick wouldn't fly well but saying Yahwah, Allah, or Ahura Mazda, and its really under attacking ideology.

I didn't read any attack on religious people. I read a criticism of religion. That is the whole idea of this forum: to debate such things.

I am not saying that you are stupid or evil for believing in your god. I am just saying that if your god exists and the tellings of the bible are true, then he must be quite a Dick.

In America religion is playing a lesser role in thing's such as politiics ect but people have the right to believe in or follow a religion and people have the right not to but their is a thing of moderation but both sides will always go at it it all comes down to the yin and yang really.

You don't view calling god a prick dick ect as a attack against people that worship God. BTW some people view believeing in God as a state of mind.

That's why I think Jim Gaffigan's joke about being Catholic meaning that you don't have to read the bible holds so much truth. Many just go to hear heart-warming, fuzzy, and uplifting antics for an hour a week and for the cookouts and picnics. Its the whole upper-middle class yuppy culture club really and they cut the pages of the bible to strings of paper dolls essentially because they're keeping what they want of it and wholesale throwing out the stuff that gives them any cognitive dissonance.

I have heard some people call the Bible the "Big Book of Multiple Choice."

Huh? My outsider (and thus objective) impression is that theocrats have gained power over American in the latest years. I don't think the current republican candidates would have had ground to cover 15 years ago.

That's a good thing I think. And the bible has plenty of good messages. It's not like it's hurting people.

Well, their God is just a different God than yours. Same name but, he's the God of SUV's, soccer moms, NASCAR dads, Sunday brunches, Chipotle, Starbucks lattes, and American Football/Baseball. On top of that he doesn't ask that much from you aside from that he loves you unconditionally and wants you to love him back. I do believe their having their cake, eating it, and selling their excrement as fertilizer for twice the price that they bought their cake.

I agree. That is why I don't subscribe to any religion's dogma.
