BDSM, sodomy, and smoking simply shouldn't be permitted in public places.

*CENSORED*! *CENSORED* in the dungeon!

But, in all seriousness, your house is not a public place. If people were going around screwing each other in the streets, sodomy laws won't be used to prosecute them. As far as smoking in public places goes, suck it up or walk away princess.

Smoking should be allowed in public resturants they should bring back. "Smoking or non smoking" sections I think that by lobbying, to get rid of them caused quite the controversy. It really all has to do with liberty to have the right to smoke taking something so simple aways leads to a snowball effect.

If they want to get rid smoking why not get rid of drinking at bars?

There was no controversy. Life is simply a lot better now for everyone. We surely do not need to return to the dark ages.

Yeah, the dark ages when people had control of their own private property.

I agree, but I think it's far, far more important to get the smoking ban relaxed or reversed in pubs.

It doesn't matter anyway - most pubs have simply decided they don't want to cater for smokers. I think there will come a time when things will - at least partially - swing back.

Tobacco and death causing substances should be banned altogether... We are supposed to be a society of life are we not? So why allow these things to be available. I'm sure it wastes alot of farm land too. We are always talking about doing the right thing, but then cigarettes are still available everywhere and kill more people than anything else these days. It's time to do away with them for good. Ban Tobacco in the US and send a real message of health. I'm an ex-smoker and I started because I believed in a god and I knew it would shorten my life and I wanted to get to this perfection place sooner... then I got addicted and after 7 years of smoking I quit when I was about 19 in a triumph of Atheism and freedom from a deathwish that was enabled by religion. Let's face it, we don't smoke to be cool, that is BS, when life sucks and things are hard it is cool to express it with a cigarette, it's an unspoken language between you and your fellow smoker. Life often changes from the time you begin killing yourself to the time you realize there is no god to save you and you've made your life insurance very expensive so saving for cryonics will be a burden for you. Luckily some will give you rates for quitting, but I doubt it is as good as it would be for someone who never smoked and never lived like dieing was the best part of life.

So yeah ban that s**t and make everyone quit. We'll save more money than we raise in taxes. No more death industries.

That is one reason I feel like I should have every right to smoke a cigaratte, what better way is there to say 'f*** this, it sucks.'? and I might as well take at least 5 shots of hard liqour with that cigarette

There's no god to save me, no life insurance either...I can't afford that kind of thing. I can only hope I outlive my parents so they don't have to pay for my funeral.

Congratulations. No one else cares. We will smoke if we want, and it's not your place to force us to quit.

Because that worked so well with alcohol in the '20s and drugs from the '30s onward?

Smokers are fine. I don't agree with their habit but I agree with their right to practice it.

That said, they shouldn't be able to disrupt other people. I like dubstep but people would be (rightfully) pissed off if I blasted it out of a boombox as I walked down the road. In the same way, people shouldn't smoke in places where it annoys other people. I hate walking to down the road and getting a bunch of cigarette smoke all in my face.

Aside from that, yeah, leave smokers alone. If they're not blowing smoke at you then they're not harming anyone but themselves and that's their personal choice. It's not like banning it would ever work anyway.
