You like the fact that he was a good painter, I hate the fact that my grandmother lived three years of hell, and for years after that still had nightmares, was paranoid so she hid food even in Israel, and never spoke about it with her sons while growing up, or with her husband, because she didn't want to pass her trauma on.

They did. They stopped for a few reasons - one of them because even the most hating Nazis couldn't keep killing people loking in them in the eyes for too long.

In all seriousness, no. THis guy was pretty charismatic, how else could he rally all these people behind him? I just don't know if he was a sociopath, or if he really believed in what he preached.

Hitler is one of the most obvious cases of psychopathy ever. I don't see how he could be mistaken for anything else.

I agree Pat2rome. If he was on the autistic spectrum (which I doubt), then there were definitely other factors at work to make him the way he was. We with autism aren't driven to do what he did unless there is something else going on---psychopathy, etc.

His success at manipulating the public was also a reflection of the dire economic times. People wanted a scapegoat and he gave them one.
