You say that you would believe a single person unless "you knew they were full of it". But how
could you possibly know whether they were full of it? The look in their eyes, or something?
Suppose there was an anonymous poll where 2% of women claim that they genuinely like puking on cocks. Would you believe the poll? After all, it's well-known that weird psychological effects can even affect the answers given on an anonymous poll. Maybe they don't
really like it, they just lie to themselves that they like it.
At some point, you just have to believe what people tell you about their own motivations. It's common courtesy.
