I agree not to discuss politics and see that point. It's just that other people at disney do that on social media as well, and things do not happen to them. It's been pointed out by Star Wars fans how Pedro Pascal has used the term nazis to describe people on social media, and nothing happens to him, uses the a Jewish comparison, and she is fired over it.

So I feel it's a huge hypocrisy if other people are allowed to discuss politics in Disney on social media, but only she is fired over it.

I don’t bother to discuss politics at work.

Losing your livelihood is not as bad as being imprisoned.

Being doxxed and harassed is not as bad as being imprisoned.

That all said we are in unhealthy situation. When one is afraid to say what one thinks one is actually more likely to say something actually bad and offensive and pay for it. Then one becomes more and more defensive increasing the likelihood of messing up. It is a catch 22 type situation. If they intimidate you into silence you they won, if they get you to “slip” you get branded a racist, they won. This is why cancel culture has been so effective. All of this does out real bigots, but innocent people get caught up. As people on the spectrum we already had problems with offending people. This has made it worse.

The sad and ironic part of this is the this is undoing a decades of work by the left that tore down stifling censorship of left of center views and sexuality.

It just seems that cancel culture is going too far though. For example, there are now calls to in cancel culture to now cancel Henry Cavill because he and Gina Carano dated at one point, before this whole incident. I think that is ridiculous and going too far.

I feel like "cancel culture" frequently goes too far.

Like using fascistic methods to fight fascism.

Yeah it seems that way, which is why it all feels hypocritical to me. I feel that when it comes to politics, that hypocrisy is the biggest issue. If the word hypocrite was used as much as the term 'sexist' or 'racist', that would be really productive and progressive in politics I think.

I see you as an objective centrist.

I consider myself a right-leaning centrist.
The reason I may not appear that way is that I have a bigger problem with leftist ideology which attacks individualism.
I am *not* a collectivist thinker.

BTW, There was at least one antifa agitator/infiltrator at the Capitol Hill riots.

Do any of those actually prove he is being cancelled, because the comments they link mostly seem to be assuming he is being cancelled. Like they they assume he is going to be cancelled because he dated her. One of them even said that they wondered if they broke up after he found out what her politics are like, nothing about him needing to be cancelled because they dated.

Kind of seems like a lot of projection, and clickbait of using supposed cancel culture to sell your news.

"Clickbait" is doing his thinking for him.

With the recent 'cancelling' of 'racist' statues, there was a great deal of ignorance involved.
Some ill-informed [cough] individuals[cough] were more interested in finding a statue victim to satisfy their virtual-signalling, rather than engaging in due diligence to find valid targets.
