God, nor any other religious diety, have no place in our government.

1. Awesomelyglorius is more than likely joking, because, last time I remember, he said he was not a Christian, just that he respects the theology/philosophy.

2. "diety" is spelled deity. From Latin, Deus, "God", or deus, "god", with nominative plural of dei, "gods, which is also singular genitive "of god", or "Dei", "of God".

Oh, excuse me then. It's just that he sounded dead serious, and I don't know him that well. I apologize.

Also, I actually know how to spell "deity", I just made a typo. Really, I did!

Hmm... I was hoping that I didn't. I mean, the notion that God doesn't belong in government is somewhat popular. In any case, this being the internet, even if I was literally dripping with sarcasm, there is probably at least one person on this great set of tubes that could say the exact same thing and be serious.

When Obama took office our economy was taking one of the biggest nosedives in history. Also our Government was hated by most of the world.

Our economy is not the best, but the nosedive is over thanks to Obama's efforts. Plus the world now looks at the US under a better light. I don't think Sarah could pull this much off, so I would vote of Obama.

Obama did set too many goals and too tight of deadlines.. which he missed most of them. Plus I have a feeling the good ol' boys had a sit down & told him how Washington works. Without Congress support, the President can do little. Congress follows the commands of the people who paid for their elections, why else do you think banks are thumbing their noses at us and giving even bigger bonuses?

I would hate to think what the good ol' boys would do to a woman president. I'm pretty amazed they allowed a black one to last this long.

Obama, in a heartbeat. While I am disappointed with some of his decisions and the pace at which he had attacked certain issues, I have not seen another viable candidate who I would consider worthwhile.

Hated is probably a little strong.

It is not over. Unemployment rates are still going up and Obama is hinting at a double dip. All while putting us more in debt and costing us jobs with policies he wants to put in place. In what way can you say the nosedive is over.

What evidence do you have that shows the world looks at us in a better light? Is it because he got us the Olympics for Chicago? If anything, he's made a fool of himself and therefore the country on the world stage.

This I agree with. It's a good thing Obama gave those backs so much more money to pay those bonuses.

That's because the "good ol' boys" is pretty much non existant.

"Dreams of my Father" might be the stupidest book ever written, but Palin seems like such a dope I wouldn't trust her with an administrative job, let alone the presidency.

Yes unemployment rates are still climbing, especially here on the West Coast. But it has slowed. Take a look at almost every economic indicator, many are increasing. Look at the Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, S&P 500... all are on the rebound. Housing sales & prices are increasing... employment will follow, it just take time. I hope you weren't expecting Obama to wave a magic wand and make decades of mismanagement go away.

As for how the world views us:
BBC Poll http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7324337.stm

But we are still seen as the world's bully.

I think all it would take for unemployment rates to decrease is to trick the employers into thinking the economy is good and that their may be a labor shortage soon. This would be falsity, but in terms of Machiavellian reasoning (which I don't approve of) it would have a good result. With more people working, there is more potential for spending too.

It would be difficult to trick employers like that. Also, it seems to me that you would have to trick everyone, as capital lending would also ideally have to increase as well. Finally, although currently existing employers employ a good number of people, a major source of employment is often small businesses and new businesses, and I am not sure how you can change their behaviors so easily.

"Control the media, control the people" is the general premise behind such a ploy.

The idea is, even if everyone isn't fooled, there may be enough who are at a time to increase employment and then increase consumer spending ability.

The employees are the consumers.

How long does the republican party think it can run on stupid? When I think of palin as an actual politician i can help thinking of the movie idiocracy. She is a bigger idiot than the former president. She blamed katie couric for not being able to name a periodical. How childish is that?

For all of obama's faults at least we know he can read.

Obama and Palin are just a stupid as any other people, it's just which brand of stupidity you prefer to call wisdom.

I would be scared to death of having a women running the country and being in charge of the U.S. military, but I think that anyone right now would be more competent than the left-wing liberal nut job that we currently have in office. Obama is an idiot, and anyone who voted him into office an even bigger idiot. Just because someone can give a nice speech, that does not qualify anyone to be President.

Obama and his left-wing cronies such as Rahm Emanuel, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd, & Dirty Harry Reid were the ones responsible for destroying the U.S. ecomomy. They effectively blocked every effort Bush made back in 2005 to reform the housing market. Barney Frank, that scumbag that he is, turned a blind eye to all of the corruption going on in Wall Street because he recieved bribe money from his boyfriend Herb Moses. As Chairman of the House Finance Comittee, it was supposed to be his job to blow the whistle when things got out of hand. Not only did these cronies of Obama cause this credit crisis, they also blamed Bush for all of their irresponsibility. These liberal bastards are "narcissistic", and as a result they have to "un-know" everything in order to convince themselves that they aren't bad. To this day none of these cronies have accepted responsibility for their own actions.

Obama is a megalomaniac, and everyday he is working towards his childhood fantasy of absolute power and control. He has a Napoleon Complex, and he wants to destroy the U.S.A. as we know it so that he can crown himself emperor. He wants us to remain poor, so that he can control all aspects of our lives such as energy, healthcare, etc. So if I had to choose between Barack Obama or Sarah Palin, I would take Sarah Palin anyday. At least she isn't a megalomaniac and hopefully we could at least have jobs again.
