So what does the poem on the Canadian Statue say? Don't give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free?

ruveyn

Normally, yes, except for on 9/11 and the few days after when your country decided that God would keep the circling jets from running out of fuel and crashing.

On that day Canadian pragmatism prevailed, and we accepted the tired and huddled - mostly American - passengers. Warm hearted Canadian maritimers fed them and provided shelter, even bringing them into their homes when needed.

Tell me, ruveyn, if Canada had not done this thing, do you think the US government would have opened the airports, or do you think they would have let their own masses - yearning to be home - crash into the sea?

Its not a rhetorical question. Do you think they were bluffing about not letting any jets approach?

The problem with Canadian immigration is that so many of the highy protectionist professional associations refuse to recognize the immigrants' degrees.

Well, my dad does deal with new immigrants that apply for engineering, and you should know that in some countries, they are "forced" to approve plans even if it's unsafe (or else themselves or their family suffers) <.< . It is pretty much criminal to do such thing here in Canada. <.<

So, did Rush Limbaugh go? Is he getting ready to go? I have clients that are applying for their $250.00 for Medicare part D coverage (Doughnut hole) gap and there are kids staying on their parent's insurance policy until they are 26 just today.

Has he made his plans to go yet? Did he say?

To be fair, plenty of left-wingers threatened to emigrate to Canada if Bush was re-elected in 2004, and to my knowledge none of them did. Of course, that may be partially attributed to your strict immigration laws. Do you think if Palin manages to get elected in 2012, you guys might start accepting political refugees?

San José, Costa Rica – Conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh said this week he’d go to Costa Rica for medical treatment if Congress passes proposed reforms to the US healthcare system.

Sounds like some people are going to be awfully disappointed when they recall what Rush actually said. Incidentally, I'm sure he's thrilled with this development, he's now got years worth of material for his show, I liken it to Jay Leno's OJ windfall.

Rush is nothing more than a drug-abusing, hypocrite, chicken-hawk bigot. Yeah go to Costa Rica, you could also bring Oliver North with him. Oh by the way dum@$$ Costa Rica has Single-Payer. Think before saying something like that on the radio.

Nearest? Don't be ridiculous. You will have to appear at the Death Panel located in American Samoa. Or Kenya, where we will shortly be relocating our capital.
