Crime and racism topic

I certainly cannot pretend to understand criminal behaviour, especially the violent variety, that ends in vicious injuries, and may or may not have racist overtones. Racism is foreign to me as well. I personally have no interest in what a person looks like, as it has no bearing on the individual.

Crime and criminal behaviour have no basis in race. I have been a victim of crime for persons of both sexes and all skin colours. I admit that it is difficult to see beyond the appearance of the person who did the deed. But this is not accurate, except when used as an identifier, and to apprehand the perpetrator of crime.

Crime and criminal behaviour are cowardly, especially when a gang of thugs targets a single person.

Can people stop being racist? This takes a lot of work, starting with understanding oneself and society the way it is, that encourages blaming others. I mentioned this in another thread regarding political correctness and ethnic inclusiveness with regard to hiring practices.

I grew up in a racist family, but perhaps, just perhaps being AS and my self-analytical nature prevented a descent into taking the easy way out. I personally cannot stop others from being racist but I can see it in myself and stop the cycle of hating others just because they look different, and blaming them for all my problems.
