Thank you for another shining example of Liberal Elitism. Not sure if you or skafather84 is a more blatent example of the arrogance of the left.

Yeah, that's another thing: liberals learn what words mean: conservatives just parrot whatever misapplication of a word that the conservative talking heads come up with. Elitism has nothing to do with just knowing more than someone else. Elitism is a class thing. Like how republicans only serve the top 1% and increase the cost to the bottom.

A day for us is how long it takes the Earth to rotate about its axis one time. for all we know God's idea of a day is how long it takes the Milky Way to rotate about its axis.

@ xenon13

Actually Liberals are more likely to be snobbish, and they tend not to be cultured either. They tend to be full of themselves though.

I know people who hold exactly those views, and have expressed them almost verbatim as you have.

The extreme anti-leftist ruveyn has consistently belittled "the proles" for, well, not having jobs he considers important. It disgusts me in particular as my father (for a period of his life) was one of the "proles" ruveyn likes to belittle.

Acting high and mighty, yet another example of why people think people on the left a bunch of snobs that think they are more intelligent than they really are.

Whatever.

When someone regularly belittles garbage collectors, sewage repair workers, and like as useless, subpar human beings I don't care what some snob who thinks pointing snobbery out is elitism believes.

The inventors are not the Masters of the Universe. They don't impose their will on the rest of us. There are very few of them anyway and deifying them is not healthy either.

I so agree on the sewage workers and the like. These things are essential. If jobs are hard and dirty the people doing them should be paid more, certainly. And don't give me that "you don't need millions of years of schooling", the fact of the matter is essential functions that are dirty deserve to be well-paid - they're paying their dues then and there.

Where the heck are you coming up with that load of garbage? I don't recall anyone on the conservative side belittling people like that. Those people have jobs and do something escential to society.

You and xenon13 are both coming up with arguments which are blatent falsehoods and you both know it, which fits into the stereotype that liberals have problems telling the truth.

My particular post referenced ruveyn, who I will admit is more of a Social Darwinist than a pure conservative.

You know what I think? Give the Proles something eat, something to drink and something to schtupp and they will be happy Proles. The Proles are yet to do something Great. History is made by talented and ambitious individuals, no Proles marching in lock step.

What have the Proles given us? A lot of discarded beer bottle in the bleechers, that's what.

Well, yah, that could be the case. Some people are just dicks, no matter what their political bent is. I really think that the Ayn Rand types that see their selves as some super human having their God like potential being suppressed by the democratic masses as being pretty elitist, ideologically, more so than people who believe in equal rights.. You can be pretty condescending thinking all poor people are just lazy, just as much as you can be condescending, thinking that you're morally infallible.

there are leftie elitists as well as rightie elitists, but the latter are usually the ones who are most personally cruel to me.

I actually usually disagree strongly with this author, but much of his personal critique of liberalism (from the left) rings true to me.

It's long, but worth reading: http://exiledonline.com/the-rally-to-re ... -lameness/

Which is why Tesla died a rich man with a legacy in his company that continues to this day.

Tesla was a bad business man. He went through two fortunes and died poor. But in 1942 the courts recognized that he, not Marconi, was the true inventor of radio. With all of Tesla's failures the world runs on his method of generating electric current. We live in an AC world, so Tesla, in a way, had the final revenge of Edison, who, by the way, was also a creator and an inventor and he died rich.

In the long run Tesla's contribution to science and technology will establish him as one of the Best of the Best and that is, by definition, Elite.
