Regarding leadership, I was surprised (and somewhat frightened) when people started describing me as a leader, but as far as I can tell, all it meant was I did what I believed in and some other people who hadn't realized they could do similar things, realized they could because of that, or thought in new ways. It wasn't like I set out with a goal of leadership in mind, but as far as I can tell it's more about following your own sense of integrity than telling people what to do or something like that. Then people see that you're doing it and think differently or realize they can do similar things or something. The same as I realized I could do what I do after seeing other autistic people doing it. Note that I don't really know, because I still don't know why I am considered to have a leadership position, but I keep being told I do so these are my guesses (combined with asking people what they meant when they called me that) as to what happened.

What kind of position is it that people call a leadership position?

I'd guess manager?

When doing those tests they told me I was a leader also. This is interesting. I think people with Asperges would be more effective at leadership because of our independance so-to-speak. "We" seem to get along through life with little interaction with others and I think this plays a part.

I have some great "mind tools" which might help:

If you find it hard talking to others, realise that "hey, I'm perfectly righteous in what I'm doing. if this sucker doesn't like what i'm saying they can either let me know or **** off". (Only works if you're no trying to hide anything so clear your mind first).

Negativity is only damaging - Talking to yourself positively is a good way to clear your mind. Talking to others while only being positive in your speech (and I mean down to the very letters) is magic in the way that it changes peoples reactions to what you're saying. Eg, instead of "don't do that", say "stop".

Set goals which are realistic, yet not pathetic. The way I set goals is think...what do I want? WRITE THEM DOWN. Honestly, writing down goals has been magic for me. And this one I came up with myself: set a path to your goal. and write that down. And make a deadline for each goal. Write that down too. If you actually do all that and remain realistic, more often than not you'll Win. In other words, you'll get what you want.

I just thought I'd share all of that because it's worked for me and I like this idea you have.

I can see why HB would get annoyed with the pedantics and semantics and nitpicking on this thread. There's no 'right' way for anyone to act if they want to do this sort of thing. Some people are natural moderates, some aren't. Myself I think it's a stage you go thru - I'm sick of explaining autism.

I'm a beliver in something similar to "Fate" as it were. Obvioulsy something is going to happen but not before something else does. There is a natural progression to everything in this world. All "revolutions" sprouted from an enviroment in which a revolution was needed. From Communism to Fascism, from civil rights to the renissance, all revolutions came from an outcry of the masses. On a personal level there is enough turmoil to have your own "personal revolution" but not on a large scale amoungst all of us. I have a small inkling that indeed there will be some drastic changes for us as a whole in the very near future.

Screw becoming well known. We should keep our existance as low profile as possible. Then we should create societies online to help organize us. Then we will marry among ourselves and increase our population. After enough time we could become the dominant species!
