I don't buy the idea that those two assumptions underly all science, but ignoring that - why would you assume that ideas outside mainstream science have to work the same way mainstream science does?

Any system can be described by its internal workings, if those internal working operate in a consistent - if not logical manner.

I am asking for a listing of these rules, not a collection of philosophical essays.

I did say so.

I will say it again.

We DO not and CAN not KNOW "the list of rules' for the house where we live, though we can and do keep trying to improve our guesses on partial lists of rules.

Wr CAN NOT know and SHOULD NOT guess at the rules governing a place that some of us doubt or deny exists and that nobody I know has seen.

PLEASE drop "supernatural" - what we do not know is not by that fact "supernatural"

Yes, and I might even borrow some of his stuff for use elsewhere ... and with due credit, of course!

No, you didn't.

I am not asking about the Natural universe; I am asking about the alleged Supernatural realm.

Excuse me, SIR! I did not realize that YOU were the sole arbiter of ALL knowledge and what questions we poor mortals SHOULD ask! Nor did I realize that WrongPlanet is all about YOU and what YOU believe.

As for the rest of us, assuming that there is a Supernatural realm, what are the alleged rules rules that allegedly govern it?

Fnord:

I say again I DID say I / we / do not know the rules of which you inquire.

But, no, I will not say it again and I will leave it up to you to run back and find where I DID say it.

Pray tell me where I said I am the arbiter of all knowledge? Then I will tell you where I to your face deny the claim we can know THE unique unbreakable rules of this universe.

You seem to have found but not understood the bit about not having access to extrauniversal rules.

I do not have to be supreme anything to make a plea for iuntelligent use of language.

Good luck finding someone who will tell you the rules of the "supernatural" realm!! !!

There are, I have noted, a few people around who WILL if prodded say something that you can ridicule. Ridicule is always easier than serious discussion.

Cyber House Rules topic

Two possibilities here:

1. There are no rules, and never were.

2. AG is hiding them, and they might be revealed after he is re-elected as Most Strident, Ultimate, UberNatural Atheist. If he loses, it is doubtful they will surface.

No rules means chaos; and AG could continue to hide them even after he is elected.

The universe is an uncertain realm; I would like it to remain as such, for now, and without a Resource Based Economy.

@Sartresue: :lol:

I'll put beside your name: "The Paranormal realm is too chaotic to analyze."

Paranormal is only a little better.

Sartresue, lack of KNOWN rules does not equate to chaos.

Doing what comes supernaturally topic

And does not equate to order, either.

Have you uncovered the rules, Phil?

I assume that is a haha since you appear at least to have glanced at my Fnord dissed statements that THE rules here are probably not going to be captured and that extrauniversal rules if any are not available to the unraptured

AND I doubt the Scofield rapture anyhoo.
