If Mitt Romney were Evango-Fascist rather than Mormon, he'd have a very good chance. Against Obama, he would sweep the South, and run competitively in the North.
However, his Mormon religion, coupled with his attempt at health reform in Massachusetts, guarantees that he will not win the Republican nomination.
Their loss. So sad.
Republicans are dead set against any sort of health care reform, and want to undo the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
Mitt Romney does seem to be on the defensive, having introduced "Romneycare" to Massachusetts, and feeling obliged to attack PPACA, but only being able to do so in a relatively weak way, to avoid appearing to be too much of a hypocrite.
Dude, you may not care about your Constitutional Rights, but I care for my Rights.
Obamacare's Individual Mandate is unconstitutional (or else that means you and I have absolutely no rights), the Democrats deliberately left out the severability clause, so if the individual mandate is unconstitutional, the courts are supposed to throw the entire 2000+ pages out.
The fact Huntsman, Paul, and Romney are doing well in the poll here, are actually good reasons not to go for them (and I'm not running for elected office anyways). Most of the people voting here are far left, a few are center left, and only a handful are center-right. The United States, despite what leftists would like people to believe, is a center/right country.
What we need right now is someone whom can not only beat Obama, but can also undo the damage. Huntsman and Paul are total idiots when it comes to Middle East Foreign Policy, could Huntsman wise up, possibly, but Paul probably can't. The idea of Iran getting their hands on a Nuclear Weapon is completely insane. The idea of handing Iraq to Iran on a silver platter is insane, and the idea of letting Al Qaeda have Afghanistan is completely insane.
Right now, I think the best option is Newt Gingrich, because
he balanced the Federal Budget, the fiscal fiascos occurred
after he left public office. Everyone screaming about his marital problems really are being hypocritical because they would support Bill Clinton in a heartbeat. Furthermore, unlike Bill Clinton; Newt Gingrich did not lie under oath before a Federal Grand Jury.

You are insulting a retired Colonel from the US Military. Your comments that he's insane is way out of line.
@ Joker
Allen West isn't running, so we need to look at who is in the running.
