I'm sorry you interpreted that as a personal attack. I was agreeing with Kjas on how easy it is to misunderstand that position

it looked like you where more or less pointing out I was too stupid to understand...but if that's not what you meant then I won't worry about it anymore.

Sweetleaf, that was not directed at you personally. Many people were taking it out of context, you certainly weren't alone in that.

It can be very easily misunderstood and most people would choose to take it out of context on purpose in order to disprove anthers point by making them sound ridiculous. Others would do so accidentally, simply not understanding why.

The problem becomes when they choose to ask loaded questions rather than questions from actual curiosity. That is what I did not want to happen, hence my post to Vigilans about him not taking it out of context..

Smoking can be bad to do in certin places but so can hair spray and other things too.

I don't. When you smoke it's not just your body you're screwing up. The patch, the gum, anything like that? That's fine. But smoking hurts people besides you, people that don't get the courtesy of a filter to protect them.

If the prison were a hell hole there would be no volunteers. It doesn't matter if the prison were a hell hole or a country club. The concept is that once you volunteer for treatment you give up your rights as a free citizen. Inside the prison smoking is not possible and you are not allowed to leave until you have completed your sentence. Good way to lose weight. Since imprisonment is temporary the free human spirit will not be broken because there is light at the end of the tunnel.

A lot of people want to stop smoking but they have no self control. So why not let others take charge? If someone wants a cigarette that bad they can build a tunnel to escape from prison. Regular prisons are infested with drugs but these regular prisons do not count because no one chose to go there.

Banning anything that is considered desirable creates an instant black market and all the issues that come with black markets.

Besides, I enjoy ridiculing militant non-smokers that gasp and cough as if they are being gassed when there is a lit cigarette within a 50 ft radius of them......
