Not sure, that seems more medical ethics and religion rather than generic anti-science. It may be a unique part of the anti-science picture. But I do see a connection between global warming and evolution denialism. It's like reading the same material.

There is a tendency to denigrate that which interferes with our own illusions. It is as though some passengers on Titanic denied the ship was sinking because they believed in their hearts that she was unsinkable. A reasonable person must ultimately believe he is in danger of drowning by the time the water gets up to his chin. Similarly a reasonable person must give up Biblical Literalism when is collides with well established facts. Biblical Literalism is Titanic and scientifically established fact is the Iceberg. Guess which one wins ultimately.

Again I say the three great religions of the Republican party are Christianity, Capitalism, and Conservatism. CCC does that ring a bell? You must believe.

Speaking of the Republican "brain": here is a recent fundraising letter from Frothy:

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/sectio ... antoletter

I guess by "Conservative", Mr. Frothy just doesn't regard Mr. Romney as mean and nasty enough to win the election.

Although it could just be a ploy to get normal people eventually to vote for Mr. Romney against Mr. Obama in November. Then, Mr. Romney can say: "See? I really am a moderate. I'm not mean and nasty at all. You can feel confident in voting for me, against that radical African-American moslem terrorist."

Cronyism is the American way and yes it is present in both parties, corporations, non-profits, churches, etc. Cronyism is a sin and therefore does not qualify as a Republican religion.
