Exactly! It's a product not a "right".

And the right never wastes tax money on trivial items? Try looking up how much we pay to put the US Army sticker on nascar vehicles and how many republicans support it, we don't have money for research or population control, but it's worth every penny to convince the nascar crowd to enlist.

If the Religious Right ever takes over, we may have both!

Considering the Religious Right actually has a lot of differences in opinion on various issues, the odds of an authoritarian regime stemming from the Religious Right is rather low, not to mention these are the same people that often want Government to stay out of people's lives.

Well, except on matters of pregnancy - and not just abortion, but also questioning the simple right for my wife to use birth control. Then there's the matter of not only denying gay Americans the right to marry, but also criminalizing gay sex in the privacy of their bedrooms. That certainly sounds like conservatives want the government to stick it's nose into people's private lives to me.

You hadn't been paying close attention to Rick Santorum's former campaign. He in fact attacked the use of contraceptives - the dolt claimed their use would only lead to abortions(!). Now, insane idiots on the right have picked up on Santorum's rallying cry, even though he's since dropped out of the race, and has gone back to wearing a tinfoil hat and holding a sign reading: the end is near.
And what's wrong with paying for low income women's contraceptives? Especially if Republicans want to cut down on the number of abortions (sorry, Santorum), and want less mouths to feed on public assistance.

You do realize it would practically take a Constitutional Amendment to overturn Roe v. Wade.

There's always abstinence until they can afford contraceptives......

If you're serious, you might as well suggest people not be hungry till they can afford food.

Now that Obama has won, do you think the Republican Party is on it's way out?

No, but for the next four years, they'll cooperate more than they had with Obama, I think.

They'll have to, as well as become more moderate if they want to survive as a viable political party.

Unless the Republicans stay in denial over Romney not winning the election for the next four years
and some start converting to the Democrats.

It looks like many of the Republicans are backpedaling from some of their previous positions. It should be interesting to see if they can adapt for 2016.

It is adapt or die. The Republicans are a minority party under the best of circumstances. Without the support of independent voters the Democrat party would clean the floor with them.
