It's called cutting off your nose to spite your face. Like someone else on this thread said, the thing the tea party has done best is to get down to the intelligence level of the average NT American. Only problem is, the Average NT American is too stupid to realize they're being hoodwinked.

h.l. Mencken said it best- "nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." the TP cynically take advantage of this perennially sad fact.

You know what's in their best interest better than they do?

I hate it when my own class votes in favor of these these congressional terrorists who want to make life harder for us all [the 99%].

Again, you know what their best interests are? Your life is in such perfect order that you feel empowered to tell other people how to run theirs? Also, that you're psychic regarding Republican intentions?

 you are messing with my head now. easy enough to do. all I said was that the TP in opposing affordable health care for me and the rest of the working class, is making life harder for me in a most malicious way. do you not understand this? do you know what it is like when somebody else makes your life more difficult? do you get this concept? do you think it is a good thing that medical emergencies are the leading cause of personal bankruptcies in this country? why don't you want me to have affordable health care? :(

the just world fallacy is just a moral cop-out for social darwinists. "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." [john kenneth galbraith]

The TP is opposing Obamacare, which is a very specific and very flawed piece of legislation; they're not trying to make life harder for you, they're not being malicious, they just really hate this law and just want to stop it because that's what they think is best for the country, the same reason you want it so bad. I imagine you'd feel the same way if, say, a social security privatization bill were passed; how would you feel if your principled opposition was entirely characterized as being out of a lazy desire to suck money out of working people, to mooch off of the government tit, to stick it to the wealthy, etc?

My opinion one way or another isn't the issue here, I'm not calling opponents of the law sadistic, mean, cruel, malicious, etc, and I'm not calling proponents lazy moochers or tax leaches. You are.

it is flawed but still world's better than the absolute NOTHING which came before it! this [ACA] is only the latest health care financing reform they oppose. their predecessors opposed Clinton's health care reform initiative before, and Nixon's own party shot down HIS health care reform initiative in the 70s. before that the conservatives shot down harry Truman's efforts. there is a CENTURY of conservative opposition to extending affordable health care to the working class. you expect me to believe the repubs and TP will support any real health care reform? you must really believe me to be stupid. and if you DARE mention HSAs to me, my one word retort is "BULL!! !" working class people get NO help whatsoever from them, they are worthless unless one makes a middle class or higher income to fund them. HSAs are just a red herring. people who want to deny me and mine affordable healthcare are expressing by that wish, their opinion that my life is worth less than theirs. and I am supposed to not be offended by that? when they shut down OUR government I am supposed to be happy about that? your worldview is entirely alien to me.

So now it's sins of the father? Let me make this short and sweet. After today, you and Bill no longer get to criticize anybody for demonizing, dehumanizing, or any other kind of name-calling, as you've lost that moral high ground. You've called people who merely have a different opinion than you sub-human and/or evil at every opportunity, and have dismissed their opinions as ignorant, malicious, or both. Plenty of people in worse shape than you take the Tea Party position not because they value their own lives over yours, they're denying themselves the same program they are you after all, but because they believe it's the right thing to do. You've successfully lowered yourself to the level of any other hate group member, congratulations.

Even you have to admit the Tea party attracts the worst right wing "wackos" in American society, Just reading their placards at tea Party rallies is enough to give people the heebee jeebies.

Do you normally form your opinions on millions of people by the signs that a handful of them wave at rallies?

There are certainly worse wackos out there of either political stripe. many of them having abandoned the electoral process entirely. I wouldn't worry about the people with signs, it's the smart ones keeping their heads down you've got to watch for.
