He and his crew had all of the human parasites berthed in their own bodies (like the animals brought the ticks and fleas with them).

The reason why there are so many insects is because they held a meeting before they got on the ark and discussed how they were actually going to survive all this, since the crickets and mayflies have short lives. and no one could contact the 17-year cicadas because they were all in the ground. The "unfortunate" mistake was they accidentally invited the spiders to the meeting because even the insects got confused about if spiders were part of the group or not. The spiders already had the plan of using their egg sacs as "laundry bags they need for their molted skin", so the dung beetle got the idea of hiding some of the other insects' egg in their dung balls (the female beetles lobbied to use the dung to sculpt art because they can be easily bored) and the other waste of the animals and put the stuff with the spiders' laundry. They used clown spiders to guard everything (clowns were extremely feared even back in those times).

And that is why there are so many insects in the world despite it only being 6000 years old. You might ask how God let this all happen, but that is just one of those mysterious things no one can ever understand.

He didn't do it alone. His sons, his wife, and his sons' wives also went on the ark with Noah. So I think it is safe to assume that they helped build the ark too. Also, the Bible does not say how long it took them to do it. I think that it could be possible for such a group of people to build an ark in 50 years. I mean, it's sounds pretty crazy but I think it's logically possible to build an ark.

He would have brought food with him. There seems to be no mention of the number of dead animals he could bring.

On separate decks?

Noah's Ark was twice the size of the 11 thousand ton World War Two Liberty Ships (same length, and same height from keel-to-upperdeck, but twice the beam). Those were the famous assembly line built freighters they produced to supply the war effort and to make up for the ships sunk by the Nazi U-boats. They were standard sized frieghters for the 1940's, but were far bigger than most wooden pre 20th centurey ships.

Building a wooden version of a 22 thousand ton double wide Liberty Ship would take alot of man-hours. But yes- Noah did live to be 600. And he did have help his long-lived kin.

So each person could put in more 'manhours' than you or I could. And you're right- it could have taken even a centurey to build.

Also- though I dont know if God wouldve approved- Noah might have hired outside contractors to help as well. And...you know... paid for these legions of contractors on credit.

You know... the contractors didnt know they themselves were gonna drown before Noah agreed to pay them back, And Noah DID know that. Kinda like inside trading. So Noah probably didnt care how many credit cards he maxed out.

Hate to be the one to break it to you. But there may have been that seamy underside to the Noah Story that they didnt teach you in Sunday School!

Beyond all doubt, no. Beyond a reasonable doubt, yes.

I'm glad that you're not on a jury then.

A wooden ship of that size cannot survive that long. The largest known wooden ship was smaller than that and it needed a steel frame to hold it together and even that ship warped and bent while it was in the water.

I just wanted to point out something that no one has yet mentioned. I am not interpreting in this post. I am just quoting from the source of the story.

In Genesis chapter 6, verses 19 and 20, God tells Noah to bring a male and a female of every type of animal, bird, and "creeping thing of the ground."

In Genesis chapter 7, verses 2 and 3, Noah is told to bring 7 pairs of clean animals, 1 pair of unclean animals, and 7 pairs of birds.

Neuralplastic, don't worry yourself, you didn't break anything to me. :D Besides, at the end of Genesis chapter 9, Noah cursed one of his sons and basically told him to become the slave of one of his brothers.

Might be a surprise, but I've actually never been to Sunday school. :)
