Basic income as a human right
I have a question:
If everyone is supposed to contribute, how is it going to be decided about who has to do the stressful jobs that take a lot of education - such as doctors, scientists, etc?

Do you even know the current state of science & the medical-profession ? I think you don't know...

They are no longer scientific nor are they about health by the way (assuming they ever were in the first instance).
Look-up the name Gwen Olsen and learn for yourself that it's designed more for profit than for public-health.
Here is some additional-information you need to read, comparing the REAL scientific-literature, compared to the pseudo-science being spouted on television as-if though they were scientific-facts, and how the public is all like « but I SAW it on TELEVISION so it MUST be TRUE!! ! »
Serotonin and Depression: A Disconnect between the Advertisements and the Scientific Literature
I also STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you watch & listen to EVERY video on Larken Rose's You-Tube channel.

Aptitude. The same way it is now. People who can do it and who have the drive to make sure they get the education for it. Thats who does them.

I'd have to say "No" to that. I have the aptitude, but I'll be d****d if I'm going to go through all the education that I'm having to do, be stressed in my job making life and death decisions, while my next door neighbor (and this is actually happening IRL) lives next door to me getting the same income and partying her a** off at my expense. I'll flip burgers first. Thank you very much.

I'm not for the handouts for everyone solution either. I think people should work and make their own lives. For people who can't do that because of physical or mental defect, then they should have some kind of government subsidy so they can survive. We already have that in place though. I would personally enjoy something a whole lot more if I worked for it, or was married to the man who worked for it while I stayed home and took care of it, than I would be if it were just given to me by the government.

Never been a fan of Star Trek but my husband likes it so I've seen it when he's had it on. I have no opinion about that situation because I don't see it as any kind of reality that I would ever have to deal with. To me that would be like asking if I would be ok if unicorns did all the work once the wizards taught them how. Maybe it's possible someday but it's not really anything we have to think about right now. I'd be more interested in thinking about real possibilities and real solutions and saving the sci fi for unwinding after the thinking and the workday is done.

No, they aren't. Both my sons work at jobs where they run robot stuff on assembly lines. However, we are still a VERY long way from what you are talking about. Plus, most jobs require some level of human intelligence and interaction rather than something a robot can do. There is decision making that is based on situations, experience, etc. Thats not going to happen in my lifetime.

Meet one of Japan's advance-function robots... this is from six years ago.

mark my words, by the end of another decade hence, robots will be shoving aside fast food workers in many places. in japan in many cities fast food joints use an automat-like arrangement where customers line up in front of kiosks with dashboards with icon buttons featuring pictures of their foods, they just push a button or buttons, then pay, and out from a slot in the wall comes the food. this will spread. Japanese technology is generally a decade ahead of us, so give it a decade to make it to this side of the ocean.

We are still a very long way away from nobody having to work because of robots. A very long way. Also, there are many jobs that a robot can never do. Some jobs require human interaction and decision making that you can't program. Of course if you read "The Bicentennial Man" you get another idea of that, but that is sci-fi. Maybe one day they could engineer something that can make those kind of decisions like a human but it won't be for a very, very long time. I also don't think this government is ever going to do something as stupid as just paying people money to live on because they are here. If they were going to do anything at all like that, they would just provide basic food, shelter, healthcare and clothing to everyone and not give them the money. However, doing that will break down society because too many people will quit working because they don't have to.
Really, don't be pinning any hopes on robots any time soon. We are still a long way away from Rosie on the Jetsons

The end of fast food won't cause the downfall of society though. I'm talking about people who are needed to keep things running. Truck drivers, farmers, construction workers and skilled trades, nurses and doctors, people running businesses, etc. Robots can take over jobs that don't require much of a brain but anything else requires a human. It's not going to be like the Star Trek "nobody has to work on earth now because we have robots" anytime soon, if ever.

That is very interesting. If you would, could you keep us informed of the results of how it comes out?
I fully expect things to get worse here in the states soon and even for the stock market to crash maybe by the end of the year - it's only a matter of time and the dollar will be worthless. I don't even contribute to my 401k anymore.
