Let me repeat again. Soviets are the ones that did most of the work during the war, NOT Americans. Yet Americans are the ones that used the bomb. So Soviets won the war -- without any bomb -- and then Americans decided to be stupid and use the bomb on the country that lost anyway.
Okay I guess to be fair, Americans did most of the work on Japanese front while Soviets did most of the work on German front. But the point is that German front was far more difficult than Japanese front, as evident from the fact that Soviets lost 20 million soldiers which is far more than what Americans can ever dream of.
So, between Soviets and Germans there was a real war, WITHOUT any atomic bombs involved, which Soviets rightfully won. Between Americans and Japanese there was child's play, which Americans won also without a bomb -- but, after winning, they decided to use the bomb just for the heck of it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. "We will win this for Mother Russia!"
and btw the Soviets had nukes and were threatening to use them on Americans during the Cold War. I still wouldn't put it past Russia to someday nuke all of us.

You know something, at least the Americans actually helped rebuild Japan after they nearly destroyed it during World War 2, and we helped West Germany too.
What exactly did the Soviet Union ever do to help their defeated enemies, in particular East Germany, after World War 2? Besides subjecting them to years of oppression and starvation?
Maybe it really is time I stopped hating my own country and started wising up to realize that there are places in this world that are FAR worse than the US.
Especially considering all the professional Russian trolls on the internet who are doing everything they can to turn Americans against each other.

Yeah, different places have done good and bad things, although how much can you accredit any particular person and nation to the good and bad things done by other people before. You will regardless have snakes that will try and use the past reputation to make themselves feel stronger.
I am no history buff, and there is a good chance I read this from some propaganda source, but what I heard on the Russian front against Germany was also not perfect in WW2. That their leaders may have been slow to adapt to the changers in war and essentially wasted many lives of their soldiers since they had superior numbers. I feel that it is awful that Russia seems to have been stuck with revolving doors of leaders that will abuse its people, and would love that they could feel some pride over their plight such as being a frontline to Nazi Germany before ending up in the Soviet Union. Which does have some interesting lessons on the economic front.

First of all, saying that American won West Germany and Soviets won East Germany is misleading, too. Soviets effectively won all of Germany. But they didn't want to end the war because they were hoping to conquere all of Europe. So they purposely avoided taking Berlin, and went to other parts of Europe instead. But, obviously, Americans didn't want Soviets to take the whole Europe. So Americans went to Berlin to end the war. Soviets, obviously, didn't want Americans to take all of Berlin -- so then they went to Berlin too, and thats how Berlin ended up being divided.
But the point I want to make is that -- if you take those last steps aside -- Soviets effectively won Germany. So this little game with who takes Berlin is effectively the beginning of a cold war as opposed to the ending of the second world war. As far as second world war goes, Soviets are the ones who effectively captured Germany, all of it. I mean, during the first half of the war, when Soviets had trouble, they were even asking Americans to help, but Americans didn't want to, since they were hoping for Soviets and Germans to kill each other off. But towards the end of the war, when Soviets almost won -- and American help was no longer needed -- then only Americans decided to jump in and act as if the victory is theirs.
Now, going back to your point. What you are saying about Americans helping their conquered nations while soviets not doing it, this is irrelevant to the fact that Soviets did most of the work winning the war. So your argument is "since Americans are better guys than Soviets, Americans deserve credit for winning the war". But I don't agree with this logic. The credit should be given where credit is due. So why not be honest and say "Soviets won the war but Americans are better guys because they did all those other things"? Why twist facts and say Americans won the war simply because you like them better?
Incidentally, I never said I agree with you that Americans are better guys -- just like I never said I disagree either. I am just making even if argument: even if I were to agree with you that Americans are better guys -- even then the fact remains that Soviets are the ones that did most of the work winning the war. The fact that Soviets did most of the work winning the war is a fact. Whether Americans are better guys or Soviets are better guys is opinion. Don't confuse fact with opinion.
But if we talk about "opinion" -- which is really off topic -- one can argue that Americans helping their defeated enemies might have ulterior motive. Namely, the motive is that, after getting their help, their enemies would obey them. Well, the enemies of soviets ended up obeying them too -- not through help but through brute force. I am just trying to point out that its not that simple.

Blah blah blah! Yeah, I get it. You guys did most of the work winning the war because you were brutal as*holes under the rule of Stalin, a megalomaniac who didn't even care about the wellbeing of his own people, ruined every country that was ever touched by the Soviet Union, and was equal to Hitler in terms of being an evil murdering bastard and yet those dissocial Russians worship him to this day.
I'm just glad I never lived under the rule of the Soviet Union! I think those guys were bigger monsters than we ever were! So f**k em all!
Btw, I never said "Americans won the war", I already know about the soviets in the war. I said "the allies". So quit putting words in my mouth!
You know something, I may in fact be just another ignorant American who doesn't know world history very well. But at least I'm smart enough to understand WHY dictators are a dangerous threat, especially to my own country.

But I guess you people are smirking knowing that America now has an imbecile of a president who idolizes dictators. So congratulations, I guess communism is ultimately going to win in the end.
I really hope I'm dead before I live to see that.

Was only after Russia got the atom bomb, did America even think of rebuilding German cities, or any European cities at all, for that matter. After all, Germany is about the only other country, in all of Europe, that Americans hate as much as Americans hate Russia. Were it not for the Russian atom bomb, there never would have been the US Marshall Plan. There would have been the implementation of the Morganthau Plan, instead.

That's not why we helped destroy Germany. Honestly, the Nazis destroyed Germany. Hitler's real "final solution" had nothing to do with the Jews, but rather the German people--it was THE final solution for the nation. Because the military and the German people proved themselves too weak in the face of the Allies, they deserved to die. Hitler no longer had a people to rule and fully intended to take out as many of his own as he could on his way out.
But it had to happen to put a stop to the war in Europe. It was a cooperative effort, not a means of supporting the Reds.
I WOULD agree, however, that FDR was much more in favor of supporting a communist form of socialism, and you need not look further than his domestic policies to figure that one out. Nationalism was a worldwide thing back then, though. Before American involvement in the war, there was nominal support for National Socialism in the US in tandem with the Red Scare. If Japan had not attacked and had German support, National Socialism wouldn't have been demonized nearly as much as it had been. Dropping the hammer on Germany was never an easy decision despite being the only one anyone could have made.
Once again you have it backward. RUSSIA destroyed Germany to make life easier for America. Russia lost 20 millions in a war that never even touched American continent yet you guys give all the credit to America.
Russia lost 20 million soldiers, America did not. How is it equal?
In the above phrasing you are excluding Eastern front from allies. Which points to the misconception I am talking about. Both fronts were Allies but Americans don't seem to get it.
