We would like to think of ourselves as objective and rational but I think most people choose what they want to believe based on who arouses their sympathy and/or antipathy or by which popular in group they wish to identify with.

Lies of Sugar Pills as Big As The Story of A Little Brown Man Crucified

I've got a very simple starting point for this - predominantly 'social' creatures tune themselves, first and foremost, to local optimums and benefits, meaning 'Believing *what* will help me wring maximum benefit out of my environment?'.

The answer to that question is rarely truth and when it is it's less often than blind chance because power structures keep and maintain power by distorting truth and preferring to only pull out selected fragments of it when they can be weaponized.

A liar can mask his lie by the clothes he wears. A journalist or politician wearing classy/decent clothes will be able to spread a lie more easily without being noticed than a journalist or politician who spreads his lie in a t shirt. In many cases, his tie is an extremely suitable camouflage attribute.

In fact, the lie and the truth need each other, the lie cannot exist without the truth, and vice versa.

If you want to see the depths of treachery in not addressing this, go look up Hebe World on Facebook. They've got pornographic images of children's genitals for everyone to see, run by a Russian who used the page to push fascist ideals to extremists here in the US. This went so far up to and including sharing a story about how he kidnapped his neighbors' child to a non-extradition country to marry her, at 9 years old. He was teaching others from the US how to achieve the same results with kids they wanted to molest. Thousands of people reported the page, and after almost 2 years, it's still up.

So, I found this guy. And he never lived in the US. He never kidnapped a neighbor's kid. He wasn't a pedophile. He was a Russian Federation Government employee. Big surprise.

Have you tried reporting these people again, now that Trump is out of office?
