I'm not sure that we have a single openly Republican member here at the moment, not just some off-beat conservatives or libertarians, but an actual card carrying member of the party. Considering that the US is pretty evenly split between the parties, and in theory AS should not correlate with political opinion, that strikes me as odd.
ToughDiamond said it right!
The reason many aspies vote Democrat is that Democrats present themselves as supporters of oppressed minorities. And since aspies are both oppressed and a minority, the agenda feels seductive. What the Democrats never tell you is that they only support the "right kinds" of oppressed minorities, and aspies aren't one of them. I was blind to that, until the Election Infection scamdemic and the 2020 lootings came along.

There's Aspie1. He sounds like a Trump supporter to me, political opinions firmly right-wing. Perhaps rather off-beat, but an on-beat Aspie must be a rare beast.
I AM a Trump supporter. Well, I became one in 2020. I used to think pretty low of him, but the scamdemic and the lootings made me a changed man. I'm bit saddened that I lost a good number of friends over politics; but I gained a slightly smaller number of new conservative friends, who are a joy to have in my life. Sometimes politicians throw **** [poop] our way, and we gotta dodge it or brush it off, and keep moving forward.
