Blanchard's research is riddled with holes and leaps of logic.

For example, when it was reworded just enough to not assume the respondent is biologically male, a commonly used measure of autogynephilia showed very high rates of autogynephilia in cisgender women, suggesting that being aroused by seeing yourself as a sexy woman is a trait shared by both cis and trans women.

There's also the hypothesized relationship between sexual orientation, autogynephilia and poor outcomes of transitioning. Autogynephilia theory predicts that a) autogynephilia stems from gynephilia, ie attraction to women, and b) autogynephilic trans women won't experience the same psychological benefits of transitioning as non-autogynephilic trans women because when you make a sexual fantasy into a full-time lifestyle the thrill wears off.

And yet, asexual trans women, who are by definition not gynephilic (they're not any gender -philic) often have high rates of autogynephilia, and it's also seen in some straight trans women (ie, trans women exclusively attracted to men). In particular, the fact that bisexual and asexual trans women don't tend to differ strongly in rates of autogynephilia should raise serious questions about the link between autogynephilia and gynephilia.

Meanwhile, the prediction that autogynephilia will result in poorer transition outcomes is also not supported. Despite non-straight trans women having higher rates of autogynephilia, there's no real evidence that sexual orientation alters the benefits of transitioning for trans women. Indeed, the only difference found in that study review was that one study found straight trans women had higher sex drives post-transition than trans lesbians, and it's arguable whether a high sex drive is good, bad or just neutral.

In addition, transitioning can also result in a change in sexual orientation, especially in the form of less attraction to the same gender (which I've often heard trans people describe as being because they were confusing envy with attraction).

This might be my prosopagnosia talking, but I have a hard time telling J.K. Rowling and Caitlyn Jenner apart and part of me wonders if this is why British people's hostility against trans people lol

Rowling has a longer nose, and different shaped face. There was SOME lady in the news who struck me as looking like the current transformed version of Bruce Jenner. Amazingly alike. Cant remember who the person was though. Rowling looks a bit like Marjory Taylor Greene though.
