Fuzzy gets it, there is no labor shortage, just a shortage of people willing to produce products at prices low enough that the americans will consume them at.

Close. Everything else you said I agree with.

What I was saying is that certain products are underpriced; their production is not sustainable without skirting the labour laws. That might be outsourcing, or it might be importing illegal labour. You gotta stop, and its gonna hurt. Your living costs are going to go up. But as you said, there are many things you can do without, such as the aforementioned McDonalds.

Currently, the federal reserve has promised Wall Street that they will inject a lot more money into circulation; the investment firms are over extended for credit, and they cannot aquire enough liquid funds to sort that out. Right now, if too many people tried to cash out their investments, there wouldnt be enough paper asset to provide them. This is exactly what happened in the great depression in the 30s.

Unfortunately, This action is going to cause a big jump in inflation for you.

The problem is thinking something and trying to put it into words and get somebody else to see what you're thinking isn't easy.

I do think american's are going to be shocked one of these days when they learn what they think they have isn't worth what they think it is and inflation hits.

say somebody thinks they have a net worth of $250,000 based on their home equity and 401k or stocks.
both could decline in value 50%
leaves them with $125,000
now if prices double their buying power with their $125,000 just got cut in half again.

so their $250,000 they think they have in assets might end up only being able to buy $62,500 worth of goods.

Quote:
There is about $820 billion dollars of U.S. currency in circulation; the majority is held outside the United States.

http://www.newyorkfed.org/aboutthefed/f ... fed01.html

figure today there is around $1 trillion in circulation, we can't even begin to keep giving dollars to other countries for what we import or in just a few years we wouldn't have any dollars left, so we are trading our real estate, natural resources and the value of corperations to get goods.

It's no longer safe for somebody to have all their assets in the USA. Buy multinational corperations stock or invest in companies based outside the USA who do little or no business in the USA.

My CT house is selling for $225,000, it's not worth anymore than a house in rural indiana which might sell for something like $80,000. people are dilusional to think their high priced real estate is really worth what they think it is. All we have to do is look at michigan, the housing prices tanked because people packed up and left.

Most americans have most of their net worth tied up in their homes and one day will have to pay for their over consumption. many people will get wiped out on paper and have negitive net worth when they end up upside down in their mortgages. The so called yuppie baby boomer who have scammed their way into wealth on paper will one day find out it's all been a scam and retirement for them is just a fantasy because they will have to keep working to pay for their over consumption.

We're getting a similar situation in Australia, with housing prices in particular overheating in the past few years. One day the bubble will burst and a lot of people will get hurt.

same here, short of writting a book which i couldn't do if I wanted to do, trying to make a point in a few paragraphs isn't easy. Sure some people here will read some 5 foot long post, but probably not many when they are here just to relax, not read somebodies economic therory of the world.

The current USA mortgage mess is funny as hell, both the below quotes are from the wall street journal forum, 2 different people, not that it matters.

Quote:
"most interesting little number I saw somewhere in a little corner of WSJ today. It said that only 9% of the subprime loans now causing all the trouble were made to first-time homebuyers. Only 9%. That means 91% were made to people either buying up or refinancing to spend the equity on something else or, possibly, hoping to win the lottery by flipping properties."

Quote:
"I will give you an example of a friend of mind. He bought a home for $140,000 mortgage five-six years ago with no money down. Less than a year later, he was approached to refinance the home for $170,000 and he could cash out enough money to pay off all his debts and buy a brand new Harley Davidson. Less than three years later, he is approached again. He can refinance for $180,000 on an interest only loan and lower his payment again and get cash out."

people are financial idiots and i wonder how many people in their 50's and early 60's haven't a chance in hell of retiring ? I hear people say they plan on working past 65, like it's an elective choice on their part, my guess is they don't have a choice because they got nothing but bills they could never afford to pay and can't even dream of retiring.

=============================

I posted a joke somebody sent me and look what this topic has turned into

I'd work past 65, as long as it is a job I enjoy. Like academia.

You're looking at what they CLAIM to represent, rather then what they actually do. Ignore what people say, and focus in their actions.

I don't know why you banned me in the first place. Considering the vitrolic anti-Christian hate that's all over this board, I'm not sure why I got banned for making one, single, anti-Muslim topic. Please, tell me.

Becasue the Moderation retains the right to ban as they see fit. You have no rights on a forum, they control the speech. Apparently they didn't like your speech so they exercised their right to remove you.

Well, then... Heil Hitler, b***h! You're not even a mod! YOU are a worthless suck-up! So, ban me, as you see fit, you little excrement! Demon Hunter? Oh, please! You can't so much as hunt demons as give people a fair chance to speak on a forum you DON'T OWN! So SHUT UP about what you think is right to say, you life-sucking muslim twat!! !

Good, speaking your mind is a vital part of overcoming sexual repression and past scars from sexual abuse. Let the rage flow. Freud will go you a hug if you need it when you are done.
