DeSantis to colleges think like me or get defunded
ALL colleges/universities should be defunded, and the proceeds given to state troopers and infrastructure. Given the crazy tuition rates they charge, they SHOULDN'T NEED government funding. They make billions from what they fleece off of students. Plus, most of them just indoctrinate impressionable youths with Marxism and naive platitudes like "hard work pays off", rather teach anything useful for the working world. That, and serve as three-season sex camps for women and alpha males.
In fact, colleges need to be culled out of existence, and replaced with regulated, subsidized trade schools and certification authorities (like CompTIA today).

No aid or comfort to the liberals. No way.
My rights don't end where your feeeelings begin!
Then they came for me. But by then, there was no one left to object.
If you're conservative when you're young, you have no heart! If you're liberal when you're mature, you have no brain!

When I was in high school, over 20 years ago, we read about how slavery played a role in early prosperity, and about our mistreatment of indigenous peoples. I don't know what the differences are between CRT and what I was taught then.
We certainly weren't taught a completely rosy, romanticized version either.
Then I got my library card, repeatedly sneaked in to the adult section, and learned for myself what really happened.
We weren't taught that either, just bare bones, no-frills U.S.history.

I can accept being educated on socialism----as long as my paper on the virtues of capitalism is not subject to grading bias.
Overall, colleges and universities tend to be "left-leaning." Certainly, though, not every professor is "left-leaning." I went to college for 8 years---from 1997-2005, and I only had a couple of professors out of quite a few who actively proselytized in a political sense.
Im my brief stint in a canadian community college, preachy Marxist professors were common. They were anti opium fanatics

Ours was not that right-wing. But we were told the mythology that George Washington cut down a cherry tree but could not lie to his dad. We were not taught the founding fathers owned slaves. "Lincoln freed the slaves" nothing more detailed about the civil war than that, not taught about the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII, not about how the Nazis got ideas and inspiration from American eugenics. We were taught about the invasions and capture and massacres of Indians.
Locally we were not taught about the anti-Republican Party, anti black Draft Riot in New York City during the Civil War which was the second worse insurrection in US history besides the Civil War itself, not the KKK marches during the 1920s, not that a Nazi rally in Madison Square which was attended by 20,000, not about the Nazi recruitment camp for children on Long Island, where nearby streets were named for German Nazis, and that Long Island Railroad ran extra trains to the facility. We were taught how Levittown, Long Island was the beginning of modern suburbia, how what a great thing it was for both solving post-WWII housing shortages and was affordable for veterans trying to start a family after World War Two. All of that was true, the part that was left out was the covenant prohibiting blacks.
